never got beaten, and this is one of those thing that piss me off seriously. actually anyone picking on smaller or weaker than them get me really mad.

Even if the guy is a total ass, usually I wont get violent, I'll le them start first. But people have no balls those days, so I don't get into fight really often.

I got a smack on the back of the legs when I was naughty, but that was about it.
My Mum and I use to have huge arguments, but one day she tried hitting me and I kicked out and kicked her hard I think after then she didn't try it again..

I can't believe how many people voted for no. Growing up in my culture I just assumed EVERY KID was beaten up in the process of growth. Gah.

You can write a long essay if you wanted, but it won't matter. People will discipline their children in the way that they feel is best. There's nothing you can do about it.

I'm sure everyone will have their say in that sentence. But, in MY OPINION, I agree with this fully, as long as you look before and after this sentence carefully...

NOW, here is where, you need to look carefully...

Interpret it as you will. Obviously you can state your opinions, but with that, I can state a fact: There's nothing you can do to end it. If it makes you feel good inside to preach an end to such violence, so be it. In my opinion it's a useless effort. I'm done here.

Yeah, it's not something I often like to bring up.
It honestly reflects on my everyday life.
It really is a terrible thing that parents do it, and whats even worse is that most people aren't aware enough to stop the cycle and do it to their children in turn.

As a child my dad would beat my mother and I a lot, I'd get locked in closets, and left there. Paddles, beaten with belts, and just randomly thrown into walls.

In turn I was aggressive towards my little brother, and my mom would always say to me "Some day he's going to be bigger than you, and you're going to get it."

I never realized how true those words were until a year or so ago when my dad drew the final straw. Why it happened I really don't want to speak about at the moment, but I beat the living shit out of my dad.

Just the the other day I was thinking about it, and it occurred to me how true my mother's words were.

You shouldn't, imo, but you can. I see no reason why discipline wouldn't work better. It comes without the distaste your child will have for you, the fear they might get for ever doing anything wrong, etc. Take the suggestions I offered earlier and you should never even have to pinch your child.

eh i was beaten when i was a kid too. it stopped by the time i was 10. i barely remember why lol but i probably deserved it. I really don't think beating is the only way of disciplining ur kid but plz do somethign more than just 'grounding' them! i see so many spoiled kids these days.
