Dragon naturally speaking

Post by Avalanche »

This is a program that uses voice recognition, basically you speak into the microphone and it types any word on any document. Does anyone else use this program?

I just type this message by using my voice. Pretty neat, huh ?

But the thing is the price is about $170 I think.

There's a function like that in Microsoft Word already.

It takes a bit of conditioning to get the words you're saying right, but once you're done with that, it works for the most part.

well, if you are reading something from the book or a quote it is easier to just read it off instead of looking back and forth.

Plus it types way faster and uses correct punctuation and grammar, which most people fail to do so. You can basically type paragraph in about one fourth the time, and I do not know about you but essays take a very long time for me to type, and any time spent less on the essay is worth the money for me.

Plus you can use it on AOL Instant Messenger, or any other program for that matter.

also, yeah, microsoft voice recognition has always failed. i remember having it on my laptop about 4 years ago. Never got anything done with it but it was hilarious to mess with. I had to write a report about dragon naturally speaking last year (well, mostly about voice recognition in general but i used it as an example) so i did quite a bit of research on it. its probably the best one your going to get. Its going to take a VERY long time for microsoft to meet its standards

It is just more productive, people who use it on AIM and stuff are hella lazy.

Like me.
