Video Transferring Question

Post by JacksColon »

Hello, I just "got" a copy of Sony Vegas 8 Pro that I'm going to tinker around with in hopes of editing video I have of my band's live performance from last year. We are also going to use this rather cheap digital camcorder to shoot a new b/w video for a song. My question is, I have never transferred the digital video to a pc before. I have the firewire cable and port, but is there anything else I need to know heading into this experiment? I have a pretty badass computer too, so I"m not worried about blowing anything up :) Thanks

You should be good to go, just have your cam hooked up, and as for Vegas I have not used it but I am sure it should be fairly easy to navigate, something like "File>Capture>location of camera" and it should add the video off the cam.

Hope this helps. 8)
