Scientists explained what ? some simple things .. of nothing of this universe .. think of it .. they needs .. more 20 billion years to find 20% of facts about this universE? lol i doubt .
science is what god give u when u use ur brain to live on .
Did you really just post that?
Never a fairy tale? Show me proof that anything in the bible happened. You call it a dog, I call it freedom. Hail Satan! I choose not to bow to an idea and limit my natural, human instincts for fear of being punished (a stupid fear btw). We've discovered nothing about the universe?! Wow, have you ever read anything BESIDES the bible? Oh, and the universe is 13.7 billion years old, give or take a few hundred million years....of which humans have existed for some 200,000 years or so (homo sapiens, look it up). So, umm, yeah I think I just won that argument, you're welcome.
Thanks Jack... you beat me to it!!!

You are a moron!
The motion of the planchette is explained by the ideomotor effect. A typical session with the (ouija)board has two or more people touching the planchette with at least one hand each, so that no single person need apply much force in order for the group as a whole to cause it to move. Each person experiences the illusion that the planchette moves under its own power.
Skeptic and magician James Randi, in his book An Encyclopedia of Claims, Frauds, and Hoaxes of the Occult and Supernatural, points out that when blindfolded, Ouija board operators are unable to produce intelligible messages.[7] Magicians Penn & Teller performed a similar demonstration in an episode of their cable television show Bullshit! in which the operators moved the planchette into what they thought was the positions of "yes" and "no" without knowing that the board was turned upside-down, which caused them to move the planchette into blank spaces on the board.

I don't think we can really compare religion and science. Religion is just a belief and faith in something you like. I doubt most people who go to church think that the universe was created by god. Leave that to the extreme religious people.

Re: God vs Science (God wins o.0)
Just mark me down as an agnostic. I don't rule out anything until I get proof. I'm the ultimate fence-sitter. Is there a God, couldn't tell you, are we a cosmic fluke and all the electrons and protons just happened to collide at the right time? beats me. We're we placed here b/c of aliens, no idea. Basically all I know is my little portion of the world, if I make my little portion of the world a better place to live whether through science or belief or both and everyone else did the same thing in their area, we wouldn't have some of the twisted crap that goes on in this world. I just don't like people saying all other ideas are stupid because there is no proof. 500 years ago there was no proof the world was round and the greatest minds of the time were convinced they were right and anyone who disagreed with them were idiots. How'd that argument hold up????
It makes me think of the movie (or book) Contact. Through out the movie Jodie Foster does not believe in God or anything to do with religion and she hold to her scientific ways and she proves her idea to herself that her scientific ideas were correct, yet when asked to prove it to others she isn't able to and asks them to have faith in her that she was right. Sounds a lot like someone else that asked people to have faith in him without proof. Just an interesting argument I thought
Like I said I'm an agnostic, but it's probably an unwise idea to write off other people's ideas simply because they don't mesh with your own, history has proven that time and time again.

it's not about the student, but to explain what God means to science.
God doesn't mean anything to science. He may mean something personally to a scientist, but god means nothing, not a thing, to science for very good reasons.
explain? if god means nothing, how can we have sooo much things we know nothing about? Like the creation of the universe?
these scientists come and begin to talk about some Big Bang. ROFL, YOU FREAKING SERIOUS? This so called answer to one of the biggest questions only creates more questions we can't answer, so we give some retarted answer to them and go party cuz we think we figured it out.
Face it, humans can't stand the fact that they don't know anything. We go creating all these riduculous theories about the universe and about life.

Sure, we often come up with new questions but that's the exciting part. And that's the nature of science, trying to peel back the layers of the "onion" to figure out what is really going on. Not trusting the word of a book written by multiple different people, over hundreds of years, translated into greek and then edited by an English King to his liking. Sorry. If you believe in the bible and god, then you believe the earth was created in 6 days and that god rested on the 7th. God gets tired??!???!!! he's Farking god! also, if you believe that, you're an idiot, sorry but it's true.

The exorcist took the money and hired a private investigator to track down these things using historical records the same way most people would look for lost relatives.
There is faith, and their is being a sucker. Try not to be the latter. Ask questions, demand proof of how they got their results.

sure, you're absolutely right. Religion can't be proven, but the people that DO believe in it don't come up with some idotic theories. You have to believe. How investigate? You guys don't even have an answer on this question and you're already moving on to the next.

How come our theory is a fairytale and your's is a true theory? You have more evidence than we do? You have evidence that proves 100% that evolution exists? You have evidence that 100% proves that the Bing Bang existed?

Re: God vs Science (God wins o.0)
1 reason why science totally beats god.
Alot of people say:
God beats science because science cant explain .. .. .. (just something)
BUT
Science can explain many things nowadays, 100 years ago, there were much more things science couldnt explain and what was called god's work. (aintIright?)
And nomather what god, a god that creates wars, let's people die and suffer for I don't know what reasons(church needs some stupid reasons like to teach us stuf about life
wich isn't right imo, what can we learn from a child with uncureble cancer? (maybe science can learn us something about that)). That god, is not my god.
sry for the bad english, just my opinion

Who says everyone that doesn't believe in religion believes in the Big Bang? It's just a theory, the best educated guess we can think up so far to rationalize the situation.

Well, then you don't know your own religion very well, because if you believe in the Qur'an then you also believe in the bible
regardless, you claim that the theories science has created are idiotic. Explain how please? Because, I certainly find the idea that allah spoke to a guy named mohammed in his sleep and then mohammed remembered it all well enough to dictate it to his followers and then years later have them compiled in a book (the Qur'an) believable.. I mean, yeah, that TOTALLY makes sense. I'd respect you more if you believed in

Re: God vs Science (God wins o.0)
Before i allow [allow as in sit and watch] this discussion to continue, i must clerify one specific grain of information; the difference between a theory and a hypothesis, and how the scientific method works.
Scientific Theory:
Hypothesis:
Scientific Method:
Chaos Theory
Reading is Good for You
Scientific Theory:
In scientific usage, a theory does not mean an unsubstantiated guess or hunch, as it can in everyday speech. A theory is a logically self-consistent model or framework for describing the behavior of a related set of natural or social phenomena. It originates from or is supported by experimental evidence (see scientific method). In this sense, a theory is a systematic and formalized expression of all previous observations, and is predictive, logical, and testable. In principle, scientific theories are always tentative, and subject to corrections or inclusion in a yet wider theory
Hypothesis:
A hypothesis (from Greek ὑπόθεσις) consists either of a suggested explanation for a phenomenon or of a reasoned proposal suggesting a possible correlation between multiple phenomena. [side note: E.G. "Intelligent Design", A.K.A. a hunch]
Scientific Method:
Scientific method refers to the body of techniques for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge. It is based on gathering observable, empirical and measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning.[1] A scientific method consists of the collection of data through observation and experimentation, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses.[2]
Chaos Theory
In mathematics and physics, chaos theory describes the behavior of certain nonlinear dynamical systems that may exhibit dynamics that are highly sensitive to initial conditions (popularly referred to as the butterfly effect). As a result of this sensitivity, which manifests itself as an exponential growth of perturbations in the initial conditions, the behavior of chaotic systems appears to be random. This happens even though these systems are deterministic, meaning that their future dynamics are fully defined by their initial conditions, with no random elements involved. Re: God vs Science (God wins o.0)
Science experiments and observes what we have. Science try to answer the question with tangible answers or, at least, repeatable events.
NO ONE has the truth of the world, NO ONE knows what happened 200 millions of years ago. But there's a few people who observed and recorded the time they spent watching the skies, the earth, the elements that form it. Science (as i see it) doesn't say: "This is the truth, and this will happen always", science says: "after many times of experiment and observation this is what has happened the most or all of the times, therefore, i/we assume this will happen the following times".
I can't know how the world came to be, but there we have bones of animals that had a similar shape as humans and monkeys, and it has been chemichally proven that they are ancient. We have too someone who managed to make (in a small device) substances that changed in time to something very close to the living matter, thus forming a theory of life on earth.
I choose to believe in those things that humans have done by themselves, i choose not to believe that rats born from a dirty cloth or frogs came from mud in rainy days, i choose not to believe in magical creations of the universe. Big Bang theory just says how the universe started to take the shape it has now, it didn't say where it came from.
I see god and the teachings of the religion as a fairytale (that doesn't make them fake, because an idea and a belief are real, as long as someone believes in them), not bad, but not truth either. There's stuff that can be saved from all of those books, like respect and care for other people (even when church or the institution in command don't act like that all the time), but those few things can't make up for the whole story.
(My apologies if there's something not correctly worded, English is not my first language
