since apparently the only person who can see them is the person who sent/recieved its just the same as word of mouth. Its so easy to modify a screenshot
the colour of the text and the text allignment is a little bit off but i wasnt really trying that hard, this is just an example, and if i didnt say that you probably wouldnt have noticed it was off anyway
just a friendly warning that you cant believe everything you see in a screenshot
for a few seconds I thought the screenshot was real, and if it was real, I would have been so pissed, becuase SG banned me for 7days for 3th pt software.

which you then, totally deserved, andlost all right to complain.
no. it's a fake designed to illustrate how easy it is to falsify screenshots of forum content.
ok so u only accept things u see ingame only now? how can u tell if the person ingame is the same as the person on forums, i can say any botter ingame is anyone from SRF......
a cpl of ppl have been banned from PM's so are u unbanning them?
edit: its not hard to edit ingame chats either, so wat evidence will be accepted? videos of the char botting? lol

ahh i see, atleast u admit that your picking favorites. thanks.
it's actually done based on an advanced analytical equation that requires all the power the SRF server can muster... takes all 30+ of the forum staff all entering commands at once. if we get it right, then the botter gets banned. but if someone falls asleep or something (takes a REALLY long time), then terrible things can happen. like, cataclysmic. i don't even like to talk about it, to be honest >.>

Of the approximately ten billion trillion responses to Mage Pker, you chose the best. Amazing skillz. I'm in awe.
I agree it's definitely easy to modify screenshots, even if you post a picture of your entire desktop. Perhaps video can be modified as well.
One suggestion I've been thinking about: since much of the evidence people post could theoretically be altered, maybe it would make more sense to give the accused a temporary ban, say 7-14 days, then have someone on the mod team log onto the accused's server to check them out. If the accusation can't be proven in that time, the ban would be lifted. If so, perma-ban.
Maybe that's overkill just to identify botters and protect the innocent for the forums, but it's just an idea. Perhaps just log in to check people out when there are legitimate reasons to suspect evidence.

If that were to come into play, who's to say they wouldn't stop botting if they do so for that time, then return to doing it the instant the bane is lifted?

SG, that reply was win. lol
I'm not saying temp-ban them for botting, but a temp-ban for 'suspicious behaviour' while they are investigated. If they are a proven bot, perma-ban. There is no coming back. If the evidence turned out to be fake, or insufficient, lift the ban.
Again, maybe it's not necessary because if someone was wrongfully accused and banned because of it, they can still contact the mod team with proof to get their account unbanned if they wish.
