Need help please, Your Freedom / proxyCap help needed!

Post by FyaDyu »

Ok, so I want to play Silkroad from behind a firewall and a proxy or whatever. So, I go to http://www.your-freedom.net, get that, configure it properly. Then I get proxyCap (google it), configure it as well. I get internet explorer and xfire working, with no restrictions. I now have two problems. Firstly, I attempt to configure Silkroad like this:

New ProxyCap rule

Type: HTTPS
address: localhost
port: 8080
TCP checked
UDP unchecked
Specify Silkroad.exe for the program.

New ProxyCap rule

Type: SOCKS v5
address: localhost
port: 1080
TCP checked
UDP checked
Specify Silkroad.exe for the program.

This configuration works fine for xFire, but for Silkroad, after updating absolutely fine, I get some random symbol-ridden dialogue box, with one button. (sorry, no screenie).
(followed by the ?????? error, but I suspect thats the laptop i am using)

I know that you have to configure different games differently, so if anybody can tell me how, that'd be great.

The second problem I have is that Your-Freedom allows me 64k of bandwidth. Is that a little rubbish? I think so but I may be wrong. If anyone can give me some tips or a tutorial on how to increase the bandwidth / connect it to another server (i.e. one that I may buy), that would be of great help. I'll be at the boarding school I am at now for three years, and I'll be damned if my SRO character's gonna suffer because of it!

If you want to continue with Your Freedom try this...
Download a program called proxifier and use it. It will take all of your system traffic and run it through your freedom. If you want to look at other paid soloutions there is HTTP-Tunnel. All soloutions are laggy though. Don't expect to pvp or grind when you are going to take alot of damage. You can take proxifer, change the proxy type to HTTP, appear as internet explorer, and put in your schools proxy and see if you can sneak TCP traffic by that way, that was a loophole where I went to school...

I've got it working now. In turned out that I had only configured the patcher. After I configured sro_client as well, it worked fine
