School Debate Help!
School Debate Help!
Can anyone give me some ideas for my school debate? The topic reads "Television robs young minds of imagination and intelligence." We're on the Opposition (ie. disagree with the topic) Kinda short on ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Debate Help !
look up that program, should be still on the net somewhere..
really cool. first they showed the negative stuff people say about
internet/computers atm compared to reading books, that includes
school books. after that, they turn the tables and show the negative
stuff people would say about books if the internet/computers were
here first. was awesome, i will try and find it, but that's
definitely a good point to debate on imo.

seen your account name has "trein" in it, i'm guessing you're dutch.
if you're not, good luck reading through the following web pages ;]

BTW, you say you're on the Opposition.
keep in mind that it's very important you know stuff about what your
"opponents", the ones that do agree with the sentence. the more you
know about what they're going to bring up, the stronger you can build
your attack on the subject.
just be sure you know lots of both sides of the subject.
i will try look up more things.

Thanks for your help, cin. By the way, I'm not Dutch and neither can I read Dutch :O. The debate is in roughly a month's time. Hopefully that's enough.
