Euro Warrior

Post by Phenom »

Hey guys/gals,

I've been searching through these forums for awhile and couldn't find a thread that covered the difference in damage that different warrior weapons inflicted. From the bits and pieces I could scrap together, I've come to this conclusion, however I believe it may be misleading since most warriors who posted were of the 2H variety.

2H = Highest damage dealing, good tank (real good tank if subbed cleric)
1H = A greater tank, but does significantly less dmg than 2H
Axes = I have no idea. I'd guess the damage output would be somewhere in between the other two, and would have the same tanking capabilities as a 2H (which would make this a useless build??).

Interested in hearing other opinions.
Cheers

2h = High damage, decent tanker, and allots of cool skills, knockback, knockdown

1h = Good tanker, but if you want to be a 1h just scrap euro and make a blader

Dual = Massive amounts of damage, it's like a pure stream of non-stop crits and so on, ok tankers

Thanks for the reply.
So dual does more damage than a 2H then, but with less tanking ability because no kd/kb? Not to mention the skills look pretty cool lol.

I can't say for sure, but yeah, dual is deadly, like i said, it's a constant pure stream of damage, and all those crits, man, i'd like to see a dual warrior with a sosun with perfect crit, that would be SWEET :D

Look into the guide section. There's a lot of information there on about Euro.

Doesn't deal as much dmg as the 2h sword build, but more than the 1h sword build. Also has some good support buffs. This is the tanker/puller of the party. Wears protector/armor

warriors give nice damage, yes, but they're really slow as well, both in terms of moving speed and attack speed. their defensive buffs are decent at best, so they die easily. My euro character is dual-axe lvl 65 and he can still die at yetis if I get mobbed. granted, I don't have great gear either cuz I was getting powerlvled by my guildmates. no need to waste money on nice gear to use lvl up and not need it. I'm going heavy attack tho, and getting a rogue as my second mastery. xbow of course...great damage and crits...like the distance in attacks too. plus, I'll be able to wear light armor, which gives a bit better magic protection....warriors in heavy armor get blitzed by magic mobs.

Dingy, your gear must suck balls. :P

I am a 76 2 handed swordsman. I can tank a party giant lvl 80 general to my hearts content. While my party works it down. (in HP mode 21.1k hp and not taking breaks for iron skin to recharge)

Out of HP mode while regular grinding, I try to get as many generals on my as possilbe. I still die maybe once per week.

I wear heavy armor, and I can still take mages without much of a problem since I 1 hit them. They don't hit as hard as you think.

Also, chinese nukers only do about 10k damage to me unbuffed and I have 17k hp. I can take 3 hits before I die. Which gives me plenty of time to 1 shot them. Granted the full sun 80s are a bit tough as of right now until I get my lvl 80 maddening skill where they will once again be a 1-2 shot.

I have no intentions to switch to light armor as it makes a warrior look like a weiner. I am also full bard sub so I can wear garms if I choose. Though 8d garms remind me of the puffy shirt episode of Seinfeld. I also move quicker then most chinese with this bard sub mastery.

And that's why you die at yetis. I see level 55-60 tanks there all the time having absolutely no trouble fighting without dying. If anyone else can survive at the yetis (and I could do pretty well as a wizard without using life control), then a warrior sure can, especially with the iron skin when you get mobbed....you just can't really play your char if you die often at mobs 5 levels lower...and wth are you doing at yetis anyway.

OT: Axes are hybrid tanker/melee dmger, they have a defense passive and their attacks are pretty good, but they are mostly combos so you never get that 1 shot kill. Their specialty is stuning, which is the best option for them as it lets them use those combos. It will be a little problematic against chinese because combos allow them to pot.

Powerlvling, which you hinted at is the reason why, has nothing to do with it. Yetis is just one example, but even before I Plvled and was hand grinding at lower levels, the same things happened. I'd get mobbed and die in no time. For being defensive-heavy, they suck at defense. Plus, they're slow as hell. And spending tons of gold on drug of wind/typhoon is stupid.

I believe PuppyPumper is right. My NPC gear is pretty terrible, but now that I'm done pLvling, I can invest in some good gear for a change. I think the main problem with yetis in particular, was that there are so many aggro devil yetis, plus, pt mobs (and I was mainly grinding out of party cuz eveyrone out there was already IN a party!)...PLUS, my gear was low lvl 7. Now, that I have high lvl 7 and even some lvl 8, i fair much better.

Oh, and I grind on yetis, because they are green and I get good drops :D

What world you live in? O.o
Party mob yeti is dealing 300 dmg x 4-5 (if they do rapid)
and 1000 dmg when they hit once strong (I have 8k hp
so it takes a while for them to kill me )

... they hit slow ,
I have time to stun them / knockback / knockdown them
and normal mob dies in 2-3 hits , party mob takes a while
but I can tank it without iron skin ....

If you get mobbed (what shouldnt happen if you're careful)
Put Iron skin , dont waste it at some other time .

And with Iron skin they deal like 20-50 dmg all the time ....
I'm level 60 ... have no problems at all .... Can tank alot of em ....

Oh, and I grind on yetis, because they are green and I get good drops

They are green becouse your 4++ levels higher then them ...
and I doubt drop rate has anything to do with that

As far as PVP goes, how do warriors fair against chinese classes and other euro classes. I know my high lvl chinese char (glave) got destroyed by a guildmates warrior that was 4-5 levels below me (both 7x), got rocked by a 18k crit (and no my gear isnt npc junk). They seem able to hold their own, atleast vs glavers lol.

Drop rate has everything to do with it. Greens drops more than greys or oranges. Plus, I would get my butt kicked against those higher lvls.

And getting mobbed is easy when devil yetis spawn rapidly, which they do, and even if I'm grinding on a yeti area, and 3 devil yetis start attacking me, it can get tough. I'm not trying to bi*ch and moan here, I'm just saying that so far I don't like my euro. Rogue is my subclass, so I plan on getting that up higher and using it more frequently.

Yeah, with npc gear, and nothing but bot parties, it can be a pain. I guess I"ll have to find a legit party somewhere, or suck it up and just get into a party with bots....ugh..

Well... You dont have cash?
Buy maybe better gear? ... Well if you can grind at yetis...
shouldn't be problem ... and it isn't hard to find party ...

Go grind with your guildies / friends ...
or pay some one to powerlevel you
(not that I support powerleveling, but its an option too ....) ;)

You sound like its end of the world ... enjoy the game ...
go pvp / jobbing ... take a little break if your bored of grinding....
Trust me after you come back you will love to grind ...

Nah mate, not the end of the world. Just warrior probably wasn't the best choice for me, but I'm not one to give up easily lol.

Yeah, when I can, I get my guildies to help out, which is nice, but they're mostly all high lvls. I have gold, and will buy nice gear and pimp out what I have that isn't already nice. But, I'm not able to fully where 8d yet, so, I am going to wait until I get full 8d before spending too much gold (as I don't have THAT much) and pimping.

from my experience: 2hand: normal damage, cant level up solo... 1hand: lower dmg, CAN level up so... , havent tried the 2hand axe but i think it should be smth simular to 2hand sword.. but if u want 1 hand i suggest u make a blader, if u want 2hand, make a nuker or smth, coz hes still gona die from monsters... mayby not from 1 or 2, but ur still gona die alot ...

My opnion: A Warrior is not just a 2H or S/S or 2-Axe ...

The warrior tree is the smallest... and not because someone @ joymax hates warriors!
They presume you will use more than just one of these weapons!

I had a 2H-S and ok.. great crits... nice damage... but every giant or party @ same lvl or 2 lvl above was hard to kill...
Then I read a guide here and it everything became better...

I get the S/S tree also and now I kill everything with 2H-S and when a giant or party appears I put S/S ... no more pot-wasting... and higher def and blocking chance gives extra time to help with pot delay.

And when in party, i also use S/S, cause knockback prevent wizards and others to kill monsters faster.

For me... a good warrior use one of the 2 handed weapon style and S/S.

Pure Str with cleric sub just to ress friends, minor healing, bless and recoverys.

this is the guide: http://www.silkroadforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=60811
Never try a conversation with a idiot. He will makes you as retarded as himself and win because the experience.

Well, pequenoleao just posted exactly what I think and do too.

I have 2H and 1H masteries, and cleric as sub. If I'm soloing I use the 2H. I can 2hit mobs 2lvls higher than me atm.

I've also heard a good tactic with the 2h is to taunt a ton of green mobs onto ya, then use aoe skills on them. Yet to try it myself, but will once I get blessed recovery @lvl 40. Can't wait! :D
