Ha! Lies. Anyway.
You: "The only reason most people think those swords are cool is because they come from some form of Japanese pop culture. ... I cannot see how any reasonable person, even with the natural male penchant for dangerous toys, would like those swords based solely on their own merit."
Me: "Put it down to lack of good taste. A far more common affliction than the "otaku/Japanophile phenomenon"."
You: "Japanophilia (along with things like Bruce Lee worship and gangsta' culture) is a result of lacking good taste."
Your response there is what's making the implication (P --> Q), in the greater context of our BATTLE TO THE DEATH here. The quote was merely for reference and wasn't meant to indicate that the fallacy was in that very sentence.

You mistook the adjective "a" for "the".
Example: San Francisco is a city north of Los Angeles.

This does not mean if a city is north of Los Angeles, it is San Francisco.

Thus, "Japanophilia (...) is a result of lacking good taste." does not mean "If one lacks good taste, then he/she is a Japanophile."

Again, I forgive you, because you had me at hello.

Gone. Never really gone, but never really here.

Obviously. The sentence on its own is perfectly fine. Hence implication instead of statement, hence my use of the qualifier phrase, "in the greater context of our BATTLE TO THE DEATH here."

You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so funny! I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha...

I approve of the stylish manner in which you admit defeat, Eukanuba, as well as the source material.
