Screen goes glitchy when i set graphics on high.

Post by zell17 »

My computer should be able to run SRO on high settings, i run dual nvidia 9600GT SLI enabled video cards...but when i turn the settings from low to high my screen turns all gray and glitchy. You will see what i mean in the screenshots. My drivers are updated and ive disabled SLI and tried it but it still turned out glitchy. Any suggestions would be usefull. The only way i can run the game is on low graphics settings (bottom picture) not even medium works...
Also im using windows vista, but my friend also plays the game using vista and can change his graphics settings to high with no problems.

NVIDIA 780i Motherboard
Dual NVIDIA 9600GT Graphics cards
4GB of RAM
Q6600 Intel Processor

Haha yeah overkill crossed my mind too, its sad if thats what it is. I run several other games on my computer, they all run just fine. Ive checked both my graphics cards and both are updated with latest drivers. Ive even redownloaded and reinstalled them.

i find that SRO has a lot of graphical errors for some people, imo it's because SRO is picky with hardware and probably doesn't like what your running, it's all about luck i guess since i can't find and answer and neither can SRO.

Yeah i guess so, just pisses me off because my friends computer is just some crappy little thing and it will atleast allow the game to run on high and mine wont lol.

One of my friends also has 9600 on his computer and can't run silkroad on high settings either, he has a similar glitch to yours.

I think the 9600 just has a problem with silkroad and there isn't to much you can do about it. My friend is trying to fix his glitch, if he solves it then i will contact you with a solution :D

In the meantime, why not try using Ubuntu and doing silkroad from there, it might work there, it does for my friend :S
