Spear or Sword/Shield

Answer and Discuss please. For the people that dont know, I am a: Pure INT Fire/Light Nuker wearing armor.

Depends. If you have a really good weapon, sword/shield would probably be better so that you can attack higher mobs and not worry about dying. If it's not that good, you can go spear since green mobs probably won't kill you that fast anyway.

Basically it's up to you. Would you like to do more damage and risk dying more often (well, very often), or do slightly less damage and have higher survivability. Personally, I'm in the second camp, since I barely have any HP and orange mobs are doing over half my HP on a crit.

i think spear/glavie's mag damage will more high than sword/shield,if me wrong,just correct its for me thx

I think you should go with sword/shield just because pure ints need that extra defence and block badly.

Yeah glaives have horrible magic damage, spears are the ones with better magic damage. The point of sword/shield is just for defencive purposes. Blocking's really nice when your hp is really low lol.

a nuker has the lowest HP in the game and can get killed quite easily if they cant dish out the damge they need. Spear is the way to go so u can deal max damg instead of trying to defend with a shield which you definetly can not. The more damg = the faster you kill= the faster you kill you wont need def

spear when grind.
- highest level mob you can nuke +lionshout, and you shouldn't be dying much.. unless its in a high aggro area.

sword + shield for anything else.
-block will save your life. i feel bad for any full int nuker i see running around in job holding a spear unless theyre capped, or close to it

Well fi you choose spear, you'll get the heuskal mastery which the last skill ADDS HP to your char. So that'll be helpful.

I think it depends... where do u like to grind? Green,
white or orange mobs?

If u choose spear u will have to always be in places
where u can always kill fast, but u will level faster.
If u chose S+S u will be able to go anyware without
worrying to much and will level a bit slower.

My choice was a bit diferent. I did want to be able to use
a spear always, mostly cauz of the spear skills...
so i became hybrid :wink:
