What the biggest problem with SRO is.

Post by andyiscool »

So, all of you guys have probably heard this a million times before, but the servers are 100% populated 99% of the time, except after server maintenance.
The big reason isn't necessarily because of botters, but it is more because all of the free players are scared to log off... Yes, scared. Why would we/should we log off if it means having to spend another hour trying to get back on, or more?
Same thing with stallers. They have to stay online, doing nothing all day, just to have a decent chance at selling their items.

SO, as I am sure you have heard before, I think a big thing to put in would be an auction house type thing. As many different mmo's have done (WoW, RS, etc.), this would let people sell their items without having to take up any server space. I have never been to hotan, or any of the other cities, but I am pretty confident that this would save up to 500 spots, just removing the need for stallers.

Now you all might say, "Now all those people will just go elsewhere, not freeing up any server space". While this is true to an extent, many people would stall while they went out to work, school, etc. And for the others, they could play for a while, do their daily grind, and end up hopping off in a few hours, not in 10+ hours if they were stalling.

This would be wonderful, as it would free up loads of server space, leading to people more readily logging off, freeing up space for other users to hop on.

YES, there would still be botters, but if there are more PLAYERS taking up server space, leading to more movement on/off the servers, it would make hopping on to the game that much easier.

What do you guys think about this?

EDIT: The point of this post isn't to say how much i hate SRO. I really do like the game, but I'm just saying, I do think this could help with the server space atleast a little... :)

The idea of an auction house is nice though:
- With the fairly recent addition of stall network, I don't see that happening in the near future (technically I would guess an auction house requires quite a bit of work)
- The spots freed up in the process would most probably be taken at once by bots
Asking for powerleveling is like asking for someone else to hold your junk while you're taking a leak.
The words "skilled" and "rogue" have NOTHING to do close to each other for whatever reason.

This is bad, cuase the spots freed up by the auction house will be taken up by even more gold bots.

You didn't play long enough to realise that Gold Bots are the main reason for populated servers. Stallers aren't.

If the stallers leave, bots will just take their spots. Like Ceus said, it's not the stallers.

Users that buy gold support gold bots because the gold companies create more gold bots for their loss(of their gold pool). Which makes the server full. The gold bot company know that when 90cap comes around gold will sell which is why they're trying to gather up for the loss of gold from the recent ban.

It's not the 'scared' users. It's people that buy gold.

Na I think people need to stop posting ideas on how to make the game better on a fansite. Put on it on the official site.

Either way they aren't gonna listen so it doesn't really matter.

Any kind of solution that'll take people out of the game or increase available slots, without making sure the gold bots aren't able to login, won't be a solution for the long run. It could solve login problems for a week though.

Why? Because look at the way people login to the server after inspection. They look at rev6/ingame to see if the servers are open and then try to login. One enters this minute, another 10 the next etc. All is nice and server fills up slowly (very slowly).
As soon as the person (or people) who run the bot company (companies) see the servers are open, they run the script that logins in ALL their bots. 1000 on this server, 1500 on that. All in matter of seconds (you can see the piles of bots logged in at once in DW/Hotan lol).

Change the max size of servers to 10,000. They'll buy a few more servers and run another 5k bots per server. As long as people buy gold, it is their business to create more and more bots. They published before - the more you buy, the lower the price is. They also create more bots the more you buy to be able to supply the demand with no delay. What a responsible business xD
I am back to playing iSRO. cSRO is just not quite IT.
