today i was playing hockey with my friends, a little scrimmage, 4v4. I was the goalie, the ball is in front of me so I dive to get it. I land awkwardly and feel a pop.
Couldn't move my shoulder, it was dislocated. Hurt like a flarking biatch, ambulance/fire truck came, went to the ER. My shoulder was dislocated like 2-3 hours before they could pop it back in..

but why was the fire truck there
The fireman were the people who cut my jersey/shirt and took the pads off me so the paramedics could stabilize me. I had all my goalie gear on, which was a BITCH to take off with a dislocated shoulder =/
That sounds painful :s. Make sure you get a follow up on your shoulder, and you should have it in a sling and partially immobilized right now at least for 2 weeks.

Listen to the Doc man. From experience, not having it in a sling is a lot worse than the discomfort of having one on.

I have it in a sling at the moment, I'm going to keep it on for at least two weeks. My muscles are twitching like crazy, I think I sprained them pretty bad. I don't feel any pain yet because I am still under the influence of Morphine...
Kinda simalar thing happened to my left shoulder: I got in a car accident and dislocated my shoulder, but under the influence of adrenaline i popped it back in on the spot. I ripped a few ligaments and streched some muscles. Two months later it still hurts quite a bit, but its much better, i went back to work two weeks later. In the same car accident my friend broke her Acromion bone, on her left shoulder too. After two months shes doing fine but she hasnt returned to work yet.

My idiot friends were like "dude i can pop it back in"
Yeah, I told them if they touched my shoulder I'd kill them. It took the doctor 10 minutes to pop it back in properly...
I got mine dislocated when I was 10 by my cousin. It hurt so farking bad. And then just about 2 months ago my brother in law dislocated his while he was skateboarding and he popped in back in his self and I go to say, it sound gross and painfull
Ouch, always sucks. I remember when i broke my elbow when i was 12, when it went to the doctor they had to jerk it quick to do something, did not feel good...then i got to go have surgery cause it broke the growth plate...fun day
I dislocated my knee bout 1 year back while running a fast break at full speed playing basketball, it has never been the same again, it feels all tight and always clicks, might be some fluid in there (Any adivice Sylhana ).
Hope your shoulder gets back to it's same ol' self.

Yeah, normaly i wouldnt of popped it back in, but i was in a ditch, the car was on the side all broken up, and a small fire was starting. So i just lifted both arms to reach the reinforcing bar of the jeep to pull me out, and i heard my shoulder popping back in with the worst human body part ripping appart sound. Under the adrenaline it didnt hurt that much, but after 2 hours it got bloody swollen and i couldnt move it anymore, lasted two weeks of intense pain.
