Bard 's Booming Chord is bugged, or typo

Post by CHIPS »

At level 20 bard and wizard, the base damage for both Booming Chord and Fire Bolt is the same at 106-130 respectively. The % of Boom Chord is 368%, while the % of Fire Bolt is 366%. At level 20, the Booming Chord only deals around 700dmg to a level 19 mob, while the Fire Bolt deals around 1000 dmg. No Life Control was used. So Booming Chord only does roughly 70% the damage of the Fire Bolt.

If we take the stated % of the Fire Bolt, 366%, and times it by 0.7, we get 256.2%. This is very similar to the Booming Chord 's %, 368%, minus 100%, which is 268%. So my guess here is that, Booming Chord was supposed to be only 268%, not 368% as stated currently. The 368% was a typo.

booming chord is a 5 simutaneous attack... so it might just be weak hitting 1 mob at a time since its power is in all directions, though it doesnt make much sense but i know lighting nukes power decreases with transfer maybe this distributes the power somehow too

Were the magic attack values of the harp and staff the same?

Leveling the wizard mastery increases attack power in addition to the fire damage passive but bards only get the damage increase from vibration. I can't be bothered to work out the numbers right now but that's probably it.

Correct... mastery lvl of wizard raises damage. Bard doesn't have that affect with its mastery

I also believe that the damage is distributed, so the more mobs you hit with it, the less damage you deal per mob. I'll have to check if it's true, but that's how it worked in my memory.
