ethanescence wrote:Okay, I just downloaded Silkroad Online (Europe) yesterday and I'm having some trouble understanding everything. The game is really, really good compared to all the other games I have played before (and it's free) but I've noticed the learning curve is extremely steep and that unless I know a lot when you're a newbie, I'm probably going to ruin a few characters (and I really don't want to do that). When I create a character I want to stick with it forever and not start again...

Questions:

---

I made a European character (Bacon) and I've decided to be a Wizard.
I've heard of subclasses? What's that all about?
If I was to pick anything else, I would probably be a cleric or a bard.

Can I be a pure wizard or do I have to spread my skills out in other areas? How would I do that? How can I be two different groups at once when they use different weapons? You switch weapons.

How can I NOT mess up my abilites and skills? Read some guides on here.

---

What happens when you die to a monster? Do you lose items or money... or? I've only loss exp. You have a chance of losing items when your in murder status. And I believe you don't lose any money.

---

How do I build my character? I'm going Full INT at the moment but I really have no idea how to go strength 10% and intelligence 90% (I would prefer doing that). I don't get how your asking the second question but go full int

---

What's SP farming? What level and where should I SP farm?
Can I SP farm whenever? Sorta yea. If you get a sp ticket then I think you won't have to sp farm as much or at all.

---

I want to get a wolf early on in the game (before level 20).
What would be the best option to earn 1,000,000? It seems to hard by just collecting coins from monsters. You sell the items that you get while grinding and if your lucky you can get some elixer drops ^^

---

What is the best option for parties? Auto share or distribution (in both exp and items)? Join an auto share pt.

---

Thank you!
Btw, I've read many guides stickied on the forum, and they don't really answer them detailed enough or address them at all.

All extra tips greatly appreciated! :D

Edit:

More questions:

---

Is wizard good for soloing? I like to solo. If it isn't what is good for soloing? :) Yea wizards can kinda solo. Just 1 hit mobs. Be better if you were in pt though. And its more fun.

---

How can I easily cast my spells/abilities? Hotkeys

Subclasses are like a second job for europeans. It's mostly used to strengthen yourself, but some people pick subclasses that help in parties. For instance, warlocks really suck in parties at lower levels because they don't have much to offer, but at 80+ with the aoe curses it's much better. To be able to party more, most warlocks pick a subclass that is useful in parties like a cleric or bard, or even wizard.

Having said that, bard strengthens the wizard in solo grinding, and cleric strengthens them in PvP. Both are useful in party grinding, but cleric maybe more so than bard since you need only 1 bard in a party and you need 2 people with cleric subclasses as a backup if the first cleric dies.

Cleric will make you an overall better wizard against others, which is why most people are voting cleric. Not many people get level 80 so they can fight level 80 monsters easier...so being a bard after level 80 brings little merit.
