My school filter blocks anything and everything. You can't even go on Google Images (http://www.images.google.com), because they think we'll do porn.
And I mean, literally, EVERYTHING is blocked. All the proxies too, so forget about that.
Oh, and the technician can hijack your computer, or do something really funny with it. My friend was in the library once playing a game, and all of a sudden, his screen flashed, and he couldn't use his mouse or anything anymore. Than the technician came marching out, yelling at him.

Yeah same, searching the word "Proxy" is banned, and even proxies from Belarus won't work...

if you can use the command prompt, you can bypass the filter, theres no run option but you can make a batch file extremely simple
open txt editor, write cmd.exe
save as anything.bat, double click it, if your there and you can input info without it closing on ur face you can bypass anything and lol you can shutdown all computers in your network
and even make a countdown to it XD

They have wireless everywhere on campus. There's no limits or anything, but if you need to access your space or you want to use the university's printers/scanners/etc. you need to run a program that makes sure you have all the windows patches, and antivirus, and firewall.
And to answer the question, yes I check SRF. I have yet to play online games in class, but i've had people sit infront of me with their laptops on their lap, a mouse on the little wooden folding board attached to your arm rest, playing halo or cs during class.
