Pure int with cold imbue

Post by Fizle_NL »

Im thinking of pure int spear build with: heuksal/cold/lightning and no fire.
Cuz cold is most anyoing thing in pvp and job pvp i think this would be nice. And you get mana shield and more phs defnece.

Or should i go heuksal fire lighnting? Screw ice and the mana shield

You can take fire, ice, light and heuksal, you know. 80/80/80/60 or some other combo.

Getting ice imbue is a bad idea, especially at this cap. Why? Less damage and pretty much everyone is immune. So not only will you do a good amount less damage than everyone around you, you won't even have a status effect to go with it. As for ice for mana shield and physical defense buff, it isn't 100% required but it is a nice addition to any nuker. Those 3 skills (mana shield, ice guard, and the passive) are really the only skills worth getting as a nuker from the ice tree since that tree is considerably weaker than fire or even lightning.
Of course a decent ice/light/spear nuker is possible, but you are giving up a lot of damage with a build like that since fire nukes do the most damage.

Don't pick your trees based on possible defense alone, nukers will never be a tanker. The whole point of a nuker is high damage -- not to tickle your enemies while you take one more hit before you kiss the dirt. Nukers will die in PVP no matter what you do skill-wise unless you kill the other person first. The only way to be a "tank" with a nuker is amazing gear.

If you want to really be "annoying" in PVP, go for max possible damage. It is far more annoying than any status effect.

I see the points you made after this comment but I think Ice imbue is very useful pre-60+. Using the ice imbue ofr PVE and a seperate imbue for PVP assuming Fizle chooses to participate in PVP. Also, I have found the ice imbue useful when thieving because if the trader is a level below which the ice immunity is possible it is a very annoying skill and can piss many people off to the point where they attempt to flee.

I don't recommend maxed ice imbue for what meep said. Especially for int---imbue is a huge part of your damage. Maybe lvl up the 1st book a bit.. thats all i do. Choose lightning or fire.

Ice imbue is okay for str characters with chains pre-60, though not recommended. But for a nuker ... You basically one hit everything you train on and your own NPC thieves/hunters. Plus since you will be using nukes, a skill that hits once, your chances of inflicting the status effect are extremely low before you can kill.
All ice imbue does is lower your damage.

you can level quickly if you only get lightning, and only lightning, and a bit of cold, I don't even think you need to farm, just have a 2/3 gap

And the new ice nuke then? is it worth to take ice anyway. Cuz i read all the comments and im convinced to kill as fast as possible, with the highest amount of damage. But the new ice nuke. Is that worth it?

And besides, with lightning you will attrack lots of mobs. And you cant tank as nuker..so lightning imbue isnt a good idea anyway. So then ill need to choose between cold and fire imbue. Perhaps i can take fire for the imbue and the nukes and some defense and passive. Lightning: walk speed, buffs, and passive and nuke. And cold for some defence and passive and imbue, for fun. And Heuksal for 2, 3 powerfull skills.

I think that you must have Lighnting and fire for the nukes..
And Cold for the buffs, without ice nukes

thinkers continue to think ...

lvl 55 spear/light/ice = 19/50/30 ... not enough sp for ice buffs (only passives and lvl 1 nuke). in garments, no soX. good enough to lvl. i'd be lying if i said this build can tank. but death is usually due to lags (the kind that even pure str are vulnerable too). apart from a few bad days, leveling's been a breeze. and obviously this build at this moment is meat in pvp, so i've not bought a cape yet ;P.

oh ... i'd be maxing cold and heuksal once the sp come in.
