How to install fonts? changed from old question

Edited New Question

I have a zip with the font:
4 files:
.fon
.txt
1.tff
2.tff

I tryed dragging into WINDOWS fonts folder in c:/
but i need to be able to use this in gimp...

How do I get my .fon file to show in gimp?

Put the appropriate files into C:>Windows>Fonts

Then Open Gimp,
Double Click the Text icon,
Click on Font, and search for the Font you placed in there.

It will have the same name of whatever you named it as. :)

Rockout to the Gimp community :)

Edit: Cut and paste the .font file into the fonts folder.

Hmm wait I double click the text icon but no browser window pops up, how do i navigate to select the font i donwloaded but is not incorperated already?
