The Skills overlap?

Do some skills cancel the others out?
Such as Fire Protection Seriues canceling out Frost Guard series?
If you can, please list out all the ones that cancel the others out (if they even do...)

No skills cancel eachother out. However, some skills may not be used at the same time.
