Thoughts about Pure INT light/ice Spear?
Thoughts about Pure INT light/ice Spear?
I was considering starting this build now and having it pwn by the time the 90 cap comes around....
Lightning as imbue, and ice for passive and the new ice skill that will come out at 90. Although pure INT spears are very fragile, won't ice and heuksal passive make it strong enough to tank a bit, while still having good damage? And it should level pretty fast, even without the fire mastery. Opinions/advice? How would it perform in PVE / PVP ? (with either armor or proctector...)

You're dead.
well it will be pretty nice during the 80 cap
ice, heuksal passive and lots of +str and +hp and you'll be fine.
I don't even have ice and i can tank against a blader and some glavie too.. unless they use sos then i need to phantom away sometimes.
and ice/light will pwn at the 90 cap.
and it will save you delvling fire like I have to do
So i would go for it

i think that's an awesome build... that is exactly what my character is. Although i'm adding bow passives and enough sp to get flame wave wide. I know... sp rape but I'll do it until ice/spear/light master lvl requires more points. Around skill lvl 40 you can begin to tank. You can beat any int in damage except for fire users but using soul spear and lighting will make up for that. Fire users tend to use book 2 more often and there is more lag with the move so you won't be left too far behind... and... book 2 is all they have going for them.
you will own in PVP, just add in some hp and a little str if you can on your armor. If they can't kill you in one hit then you always have a chance. It's ok to have an sp gap but go for passives if you can.
Remember, lvl 40 is when your character begins to stand out, before that, it's as good as any other int user.
sorry this is long... final note... if you have time, make up combos for pvp. You will need to use the majority of the spear skills although you are not str. Bloody fan storm saves you. And although you are full int, act as though you are hybrid.
Good luck and watch out for "knockdown." you can beat any int because your def and hp are better than theirs (they need two shots, you need one). Full str can't hit more than you can heal so they are not a problem... Crits kill though. Only watch out for hybrid users in general. s/s users are forced to "knockdown" ALL the time because they will be powned if they don't, but you can't take more than 3 or so knockdown and stabs because of your hp.... just finish them off as fast as possible.
You will be surprised at how well this build develops.
-also to note- I'm 46 so I don't know how it will act around 70s-80s.

Yeah same here, 2100+ curst hearts for me
I'll probably just use item mall scrolls though to get them down to 55 and then curst heart the rest to 30.
This is really the only int build you can do any good with once they add the new skills, you need weapon, you need speed and you need defense, if you miss out ice you'll just get owned by everyone, probably all 1 shotted too. Using fire instead you'll be good to to back up the tankers, you won't be able to 1 on 1 many people.

Sekkaigan cool your explanation sounds nice..^^
and to the dude who thought he had 5 trees: fire/light/heuksal/pacheon passive.. looks like 4 to me..
one thing i don't understand is why do you have more hp than a fire/light int??? where do you get it from I understand that you get your extra def from ice.. (although this will do no good against a nuker) but hp...
Hope you weren't talking about heuksal pasive cause fire/light have that too. And same for alchemy.
And pacheon passive?? i dunno.. increase AR right?? could be ok.. dunno if it will really make a diffrence.. i mean.. how much will it be when it's maxed??
yeah +1 I was thinking that too.. might even go all the way on the item mall .. cause I really can't miss much gold.. cause i'm still dual weapon for now. .and buying 2 good weapons and a high br shield is not cheap
well fire will miss some serious defense... but it will be the offensive nuker.. so prob there will be 2 kinds of pure int nukers.
heuksal/ice/light
bicheon/fire/light
with the first 2 being the main.. bicheon/ice/light won't do enough dmg so prob won't be used. Also heuksal/fire/light can't tank so it will be very offensive.. all about power.. maybe this will be one too.
But imo the other 2 will be the mains.. especially the first..

Oh yea, I use pancheon for DEMON SOUL (the extra distance allows you to still attk if you get knocked back by another spear user, not to mention your knock back is now much further... i use it with ice to keep distance and when they get close i frost nova and stun then knock back again to nuke. I use flying dragon after nuke because it's about half as slow as a nuke and does damage while they are far. not to mention ice imbue is always having the chance to freeze.... pure ownage up to 4 lvl difference... my thoughts on that), ATTK RATING not so much but it doesn't hurt, and that "stupid BLACK BIRD", as most call it because it's like having half a wolf fight with you and it will get a few extra hits in on the enemy while you are stunned, frozen, or knocked down.
By extra hp i mean that the other player does less damage which means that you end up with more hp from which your pots can add on to. Helpful if the other player does more damage than you can heal... minimizes the strain on pots as your life goes down... do you know what I mean?

i pretty much agree with you accept for the flying dragon part.. yes it's faster.. but then again.. is does less dmg too. And if you are at a distance anyway.. you might as well use nuke.. and if the distance ain't big.. then use lionshout then a weapon skills like stun or ghostspear.
And I think i got the more hp part now.... meaning if you are at a distance your oponent can deal less (or no) dmg. Wich leaves you with more hp?? right?? well if that's what you mean.. i say +1 ppl will ask you why do you run. And I always say.. well your dead aren't you..??:D
