Farming for skill points

What is farming for skill points? How do I do this. Give me a detailed step by step answer. I am new and have not developed my blade skills as I should have (love the bow). But now I want to build my blade skills fast. I think it can be done by farming ( I've heard other people talk about this). I just don't know how to do it.
