Newb Question: Seal items + Alchemy

Is there any risk in losing the "Seal of.." status on an item if an alchemy fails? I recieved a nice SoM drop that has no blues and was wanting to up the resistances on it for ice but I'm a tad worried about losing or breaking the item. Do I need an Immortal stone on it or will it be fine? Has anyone ever lost a Seal item from alchemy?

Nope. SOS will remain even if alchemy fails.
