black screen, with extra issues

Well, I have never played Silkroad but I just wanted to, I downloaded the

game right, so it patches and all, but I get the black screen, so, I download

the Driver (ATI series) wheN I try to install, it says it cant, and it says to use

Standard VGA(what is that?). Anybody can tell me whats wrong? it might be

that I cant install the driver cuz in the download section it says "Required for

SilkRoad play. Install the updated driver suitable for the graphic

manufacturer."

my video card is 128MB



I would really appreciate if some1 could help me out with this

I have the same problem bro..but the bad thing is, is it just started happening with the patch that came out
just before Halloween, the big patch. Before that I had no problem. Let me guess, you have a Toshiba
Satellite laptop. That's what I have. I think we're pretty much screwed. I have to grab SRO time here
and there on various friend's computers when I can. Not sure what they did, but it started happening with
that patch. I've submitted a couple of bug reports to SilkRoadOnline.net with the dxdiag.txt file but haven't
heard anything and don't really expect to.

Hey, are you referring to the ATI driver on the SRO site? Don't, they never update those things. Try http://www.guru3d.com -- they have the latest and best drivers for chipsets, graphics, and more.

The reason you get the black screen might be your resolution, or a direct3d/draw issue. Try Start -> Run -> DXDIAG ; Then load up the tests through the DXDIAG panel.
