Why get ice wall or fire wall at all?

Isnt that the skill that you cant move or attack at all?

walls ( cold or fire ) are used in 1 vs 1 pvp . and mabe some other pvp situations , but the skill it self pretty much sucks in pve . its not like you gain alot of extra hp or anything
it might look like it at first glance but as soon as you find out that walls dont have armor or reinforce and note that thay take 2 to 3 x as much damage from mobs as you do that you begin to see that this skill is nothing more than a pvp ablative layer of protection stopping 2 or 3 hits at most

If you are a bow user, you need to invest in firewall. Firewall is the wall that is for the higher anount of magical damage absorption. All you have to do to use it is find a place to cast it where your target is in range, cast it (takes about 5 secs or so), then just fire away with your bow.

When the wall's HP runs out or you run out of MP it will disappear. However, the way the skill works is that it can take an infinite amount of dmg the first hit and any leftover is discarded. That means if you had level 1 firewall with it's 1.1k or so HP, a 8k nuke on it would just destroy the wall itself.

Overall the firewall is a great skill that many people talk down on because they don't take the time to use it to it's best potential. Some builds its not as useful as others and the situation you are using it in always matters. If you know you are going to be dealing with magic damage, fire wall is what you use. Otherwise for phys dmg, you need icewall.

* If you are a theif and have a 4* or more load, it's particularly useful in helping you take out those pesky ice bladers first without worries about getting frozen and mobbed right away by the oranges (applies to int chars). That is if you do not have HT.
* If you are a nuker and someone is coming to you to attack (jobbing), you can cast a wall and let them walk into it. Since they can't 1 hit youk, you have the advantage. Book 2 of soul-spear is a one-hit for me, but if my walll takes that hit, I have a chance to actually kill the person using it depending on their build (I can take hybrid spears that use it, str chars prob not).
* With alll the chaos that goes on in a GW or JW, you actually last a lot longer if you use a wall since any random transfer skills the wall will take and not you. In a recent GW we had, the other guild had a 4X nuker. I never died from her lit nuke transfer because of my wall. She died quickly after our strs went after her, but the point is if I didn't wall, I would have been killed by the transfer.

There are probabally many more examples I can come up with, but that's enough for now. The walls are a tool that you can use to your advantage most of the time. You have to decide for yourself if you want to spend the SP to do so. As a nuker, I know I am.
