12D alchemy

I have rare +12 staff that is almost FB, the only thing it needs is Blocking rate. The blocking rate on it now is only +15% but i want to make it +100%. I heard if you fail in alchemy even once on 12d then you lose your weapon. Does that apply to alchemy and attribute stones too? or does that only apply for enhancing (+) your weapon?

Only pluses failing can destroy your item, Stones are safe but getting 100% is pretty hard ( i would be glad if i get 80%, so good luck ^^).

I am not very lucky with stones, but to be honest i thought he meant the blocking rate stones at a shield at first but now noticed that it is a weapon.

I once tried 3-4 pages of Shield blocking rate stones and only reached 80% once.
