Chinese in a Euro World

Post by hitokiri »

When I played Chinese, I fell in love with Hybrids. Even when people would talk them down at first, I made them work. But I havent really played a Hybrid since Euro started up, not past maybe 5X. Im curious if there are any builds which could stand up to Euros. I think it would probably have to be a Group PvP situation, as with some Cleric Buffs I know a Hybrid can do some incredible damage.

But Anyways, if anyone's played chinese characters and done a lot of PvP recently, I want to know if any of them actually can put up a fight.

My usual is a Hybrid Bich/Light/Ice. Think I remember in the past some talk of Heuskal Hybrids doing pretty well. But Any input people can give, I'd appreciate.

Maybe some heavy int hybrid spear.. Perhaps but I doubt it haha xD

The problem with group pvp is, is that the euro's will have buffs too...And if they got someone that knows what he's doing with healing and shit you won't kill anyone, except maybe a random wizards or something. That's not because hybrid sucks, that's because Euro got too many advantages over Chinese in pvp.

In group pvp a euro party will always have an advantage over a chinese party (even with a few euro's like clerics/bards etc). Euro is made for parties, being it grinding or pvp =p They got too many buffs for eachother and heals, pots, vigors. Nah nothing has a chance against a good working euro party, besides another good working euro party haha xD

But if I have to choose I'd say a pure str archer would do the most work.

Yeah I'd prolly be the only chinese in the party with the rest euro, but i suppose even that is a disadvantage in a way vs an extra euro.

Even the Bicheon statuses given at the last chains wouldnt effect them you think? I guess my urge to have a chinese again may not be filled :P

You will probably need force for the debuffs.. So I would say a Hybrid str, doesn't really matter whether It's bow blade or glaive.

Chinese can only take out a 3 or 4-man euro pt. I say this because I know from experience. A full 8-man is impossible due to too many ppl healing, buffing, ressing to be able to take them all out before they get brought back in black res, and once that happens, they can't really be killed until buff is gone. Solo, I've only been able to take out a party of 2 wiz and 2 warrior buffers. Kill the warriors, pop the wiz while they try to res.

For an 8-man party though, you must first kill the 2 bards, than the warrior, than the cleric, than the remaining wizards. Assuming while you do this, someone doesn't switch to cleric and bless or res. Hard ain't it.

Even though Euro has an advantage in basically every way I still choose for Chinese chars. It's because I like them and have fun, if I wanted to have the strongest, and most mainstream, char I would go warrior/cleric. Take what you like and don't worry too much about later on, you won't be pvping much till 90+ anyways (group pvp atleast), maybe even 100+

First of, Euro got holy word/spell so debuffs are useless. Secondly, hybrid str sucks but thats my opinion ofcourse (and yes I have experience with both playing with and pvping against hybrid str chars)

Same, I do enjoy Euro but I'd like a chinese on the side. I always ended up with a S/S Nuker, always loved Ice and I guess was curious if the builds still were at all effective vs Euros. while I may occassionally be solo in pvp I'd generally be with Euros so I'd have buffs of my own. But I guess I can play whatever I want and make it work. Thanks for the input though.
