lvl40 Thief/Hunter - can that be fun?

After reaching lvl 40 I think about joining the Thief or Hunter group.
Did some reading at this site and saw quotes like:
lvl80 hunter killing lvl40 thief (and vice versa)
a guy never asked for a trade travel (level to low?)
crossing areas with mobs much higher than lvl40
So:
Fun or sheer tragedy to become a thief or hunter at this moment?

I wouldn't expect a ton of fun, there are the occasional trades you can rob without hunters, and the occasional trade you can protect without thieves killing you. But no, it won't be a ton of fun, I would guess one out of 5 would succeed.


There's a guy in our union who's level 45 who thieves.

He robbed a trade last night. For grins I jumped on my hunter and stood over the trade. When he saw I was only a lvl 2 hunter he tried to kill me, lol. He was doing like 250-400 dmg.

been a theif since day 1 in sro.. except of you have alot of high lvl freinds.. you can be theif.. low lvl = trader only trader!!
