Attention - Signatures - Read

Post by Ryoko »

There was never a good way to moderate sigs. The only options we have are on, off and character length.

There have been complaints and/or comments about people with massive sigs, and scrolling to read posts.

I know its fun to express yourself and create a sense of individualism, but this is not your personal webpage or myspace.

Summary: We are going to be 'picking' on people for sigs.

If you have more than one larger image in your signature, your probably going to hear from us.

I do not see the need to have an image, a slogan, your character info, bunny cop, xfire image, a banner, what you had for lunch today and a hatchling all in your signature.

Image

Upon non-compliance, we will edit your signature for you.

If this does not work, we can always turn signatures off.

Thank you.

Agree.

wickedninja - Please choose 1 of your images or use the smaller xfire tag.

Nothing personal.

Hmm ryoko you couldn't implement a "new" tag of spoiler so that hide the huges signatures? instead of calling the atention lol

No. That doesnt work well.

Common sense does. Look too long? Shorten it.

For our sanity.

Maybe it distorts the image, if you make them too wide though it adds a scrollbar to the bottom of the screen which is annoying, a max width of 450 pixels is usually okay.

You should just cut off until the bird is gone, then redo text.

There isn't an option to unless you're proficient in coding phbb. One hockey forum I frequent does have a maximum size in Kilobytes per sig, 15k for regular users, and 25k for sponsors. Again, I believe that requires coding. There's no set option to control sig size, if I recall from when I hosted a forum.
