I have just lately acquired my friends lvl 98 Warrior/Cleric, so that means I can party play in Alex at lvl 105+ mobs.
The problem is I have no idea how to play a warrior in a 8 man party because I have never had a european character. People in my guild have passed on some advise on who to buff and what with but when I join a party I get told different, sometimes I get 3-4 people asking for Pain Quota (it can only be given to 2).
Im starting to get a headache and avoiding joining 8 man partys because I get shouted at and get abusive language thrown at me because I dont know what im doing.
I would love some advise on how to play a warrior lure e.g. who do I buff and what buff do they need.
Thx,
Erin
Need Some Advise - Warrior/Cleric Party Play
Re: Need Some Advise - Warrior/Cleric Party Play
Job Of Tanker
-Tanking mobs, spam Taunt, just make sure all mobs are attacking you,
How to Lure
-taunt/sprint at mobs, and run back to PT and either another warrior starts tanking, or you gotta tank them while wizzes kill (probably lack of warriors)
Buffing
-As you may know, you have buffs, such as Pain Quota, and fences, and Protect. If you got 1 warrior, then spread the buffs around to ppl that need.Protect would be useful to a cleric that may be spamming heals, and maybe febces for some wizards, just dont buff 1 player 100%.
If 2 warriors, you should be able to fully buf almost anyone,
STR cleric ( you didnt ask for this, but its amazing, and i want to share)
A rogue/cleric or Warrior/cleric can do this.
For the best STR cleric PT setup you need
-Rogue for luring(big lures)
-2 bards (will have to MC full pt, except the other bard and Rogue)
-Warrior Cleric or Rogue Cleric
-3 wizards
-1 warlock
(can have 4 wizards and no warlock, but 1 warlock is good in pt at higher lvl)
How this Works
-Rogue lures big mobs, to the STR cleric(for example you) You Buff everyone with STR/INT and other cleric buffs, cast RD, spam heals and HC on yourself, this will make all mobs go to you, while wizards kill. This is a very good PT setup, but its only AMAZING with a rogue cleric, anyone else luring will be slower, and too much aggro, so mobs would go to INTs etc, etc.
Hope i helped, i didnt type much, since before i wrote this, i accidently deleted it all, so was so lazy to write all over again, if you need any help, post some questions and ill do my best to answer.

Re: Need Some Advise - Warrior/Cleric Party Play
Thanks that helps alot.
Would this work:
Fence on 2 Ints (Wizzards)
Pain Quota on 2 Ints (Wizzards)
Protect on Cleric Healer and Bard Buffer
What do I do with the screens do I put them on the attackers or the buffers ?
If the party has Chinese chars in it, do I buff them or not ?

Re: Need Some Advise - Warrior/Cleric Party Play
Bard's don't really need warrior buffs. If they get hit then either, A.) Their stupid. B.) Your not doing YOUR job right and protecting them. They can take a few hits without dying.
Main thing is to keep your cleric alive. If he goes down your in trouble.
Oh and with that many wizards you should have non-stop earth barrier/bless going. Buffs shouldn't even be a huge issue.

Re: Need Some Advise - Warrior/Cleric Party Play
Fences - 2 wizards that get hit the most
Pain Quota - Cleric, INT that you don't have fences for, or on the Rogue or Warlock that is luring
Protect - highest damage dealers, or on the lurer if you've got a rogue, warlock, or chinese luring
No one seems to read the Protect skill. It transfers Aggro from the ones you buff onto the warrior. Putting it on Clerics or Bards is a total waste if they're doing their job right because the aggro they generate is small compared to Wizards/Rogues that are doing their jobs right.
Bards and Chinese characters shouldn't need warrior buffs. Only buff them if you've got spare buffs after taking care of the Wizards and Cleric.
Screens should only be used in emergencies. If the mobs all drop on one INT, or all go after the cleric, then use screens.

False sir.
Clerics have a HUGE ( read HUGE ) aggro when they use Recovery Division and healing skills. When I'm being cleric, I even out-aggro the wizards and warriors.
