Firefox 4 beta

Hasn't crashed yet, so I'm happy. Auto updates your bookmarks and passwords as it should, and looks like opera/chrome now, though I like the minimalist approach. Like it much better than firefox 3.5 but less than opera just because I have everything hotkeyed in opera. Can't 100/100 the acid 3 even now, but I think it's pretty good, definitely get the beta if you're on 3.5 as it's an improvement.

Compared to chrome I never notice the speed difference (between chrome and firefox) when I go to pages anyways, and if you're computer is slowed down by a browser, then I guess stay chrome, ff 4 still takes more resources.

Edit: oh yeah, slower than opera ofc.

I recently began using Firefox again (currently on 3.6) and I'm pretty happy so far. The only reason I'm using Firefox is because Safari and Chrome are terrible for handling (large) .gifs on a Mac, so SRF is a nightmare to browse. They're both Webkit-based and too many .gifs will lock down the browsers. Chrome has the upper hand here since every tab is a separate process so you can just go to another tab and go about your business. I checked out the Beta a few days ago and it was very good, very usable. My only tiny gripe with Firefox in general is boot time. It's not much (about 2-3 seconds) but I'm used to Safari or Chrome opening up as soon as I click the icon. I miss the speed and simplicity of Safari and Chrome but Firefox is looking better every day.
