Is force better then ice for pure str chars?

I used to be under the impression that the best build for pure str chars was fire/ice. But now apparently people are saying that fire/force > fire/ice.

Is this true? And if so, how? Just for the debuffs I assume?

Just the debuffs and the fact that you can cure them off of yourself. With ice you get more phys defence and with force you can multiply your damage. Either kill quicker or take enough damage to take the other guy down before he takes you down. I think it's more about personal preference.

It's not a 100% 'def buff' but with impotent you take less phy/mag dmg than you could ever manage with 100 Ice. So using force is actually a pure offensive build with great 'def' if the opponent has impotent. Do know that this is mainly a 1vs1 build, if you like group fights (being either job wars/guild wars or the fortress war) Ice is the better option.

Nope, IMO Fire/Ice is still the best. That's not because I have a Fire/Ice character, I've played my friend's 9x Fire/Force Glaiver before and didn't like it. It's nice to see a damage boost with the debuffs but I'd much rather have the defense.

Probs silly, but you could go ice / force .. solves all your problems But imo i'd take ice over force. They are both sweet but ice is cooler

Using the Force debuff you can get just as much 'defense' as you get from Ice and you get added damage on top of it. Pills are no problem either, it's either they can't kill you, or they die if you play it smart and don't spam your debuffs as soon as you can >.<

Also force is very nice against chinese players mainly..seeing how about 90% of euro have cleric subs these days >.> so holy spell will block it for them.

I'm playing at ECSRO Nomi right now with my lvl 40 STR Pacheon/Fire/Force character. Only have 1 debuff for now, but when I'm level 80+ I will let u guys know if the debuffs are worth it.

ECSRO doesnt have the Debuffs we are talking about, only parry ratio and attack rating reduce, which are totally not worth it at any lvl

same trouble with warlocks too..holy spell blocks my debuffs T_T its annoying

if you take 5 light for lv 1 light imbue, you can light imbue+debuff and the debuff will be aoe from lighting

works same as with the frostbite shot from ice+light imbue, also with the stuns too

cold users are hard to kill
for me [i had glaiver-force]

blader-cold was very hard to kill , but like a blader they have low phy attacks and need debuffs like bleed/div to kill, and because i was force they couldnt make on me debuff

but i have chance to kill them , as i know

decay lv 10 reduce 534phy def
phy buff+passive give you 336 phy def

534-336 = you still in -198 phy def.
and same with weaken down like 800mag fire buff 272
you are in like -528mag def [maybe not help alot to Str chars]
and Division raise your damage in 35-40%
and Impotent reduce opponent damage in 35-40%
Attack rating reduce - if you are bower its reduce your passive+bird
Parry ratio reduce - reduce over Light mastery lvl 80.

-selfcure every sec clean debuffs - not like purifaction pills 15sec delay
-selfheal every sec up over 5k hp [like two X large potions]
-debuffs - your main thing why you are force
-option , 3K mp increasing.

maybe low phy def - depends on your set
maybe low pr - depends on your set
no snow
no ice wall
maybe shit against holy word - disagree about this sight because Str-light or Str-cold cant debuff too [example as blader-cold - cant make debuffs too with his chains/smash , so its not so "disadvantange of force"]
