Bard pve and 4 partys, cleric pvp and 8 partys. It's always the same :)

Bard is owesome if you have an owesome group since it is a party based build. Click on my bard guard and see all the videos.

I'd say if you go bard, you're more likely to take more skills, which will cost you more SP (but is cooler in the long run). You could then do lock OR bard in parties. But there isn't as much to help in PVE like buffs and passives that you might get from cleric wearing light armor, and when you switch weapons, it can be a pain.

Cleric is more of a sub. You shouldn't need to take everything in the skill tree and as someone else pointed out, your shield can always be equipped which can save your butt in a tough situation. In PVE cleric will save you HP pots, which as a lock won't make a huge difference anyway, since you'll status, DOT, run away, wait for mob to die, repeat. I've never PvP'd a lock but I'm assuming they are tough with the status and DOT's.

Simple answer: lock/cleric, kind of cookie-cutter.
Lock/bard, might be interesting and different.
If faith is a crutch, I'm not limping anymore.
