So I have a Formal coming up for school and I am dressing properly for the first time. I have a pretty black, pinstriped single breasted suit white identical pants.
I was thinking of buying vans to go with it though, as I know I'll scuff the hell out of whatever fancy stuff my parents buy me.
Is there any alternative dress shoe? Particularly Vans that would suit what I'm wearing?

Well you can wear Converse all-stars or vans sneaks with your suit and look like a douche, or just wear those dress shoes you never wear and be decent.

And Converses doesn't look bad with suit. You don't look too formal with them but still formal enough. You have to buy new converses though becouse if they are dirty and little broken they look stupid with suit.
What are vans? When I saw the thread title, I thought it was talking about vans like a Dodge Grand Caravan, or a Chevy Express Cargo Van or something. I see this is something to do with dress shoes?

Yeah just go for the dress shoes. Vans will make you look tacky and weird. If its formal dress formal, no shortcuts noob. Since its a school dance, unless its prom I say nix the suit just where dress pants, dress shoes, and a nice colored long sleeve dress shit with a tie.

Just wear chucks or a regular pair of black slip-on vans. I own both and I think I have a similar suit (suit jacket) and both pairs match with it so I say go with it.
