Re: warrior skills
as far as mag fence though ints should get hit pretty low by magical attack though so is it really necessary

When pt grinding? A wiz with LT on mag mobs higher lvl, sure they might be int but they'll die without that buff.

Props to chrisorg for the sig <3

That whole line of buffs are NOT essential.. although many people choose to level them to 7x.. THe screens are important for PvP.. but if you are a PT grinder.. then the mag/phy fence + Quota + Protect can be extremely effective to get the party running smoother than without them.
It also allows player to attack more monsters and (wizards) to give MAX damage, using Life Turnover.
hope it helps

I raised my fences to 55%, my PQ at 60% ( or higher ) so when an LT user wants PQ I can use fences on a non LT user... keeps them alive actually and i'm needed if there's a pt... and a cleric can just keep using orbit on everyone and my pt lasts for hours without anyone dying... unless carelessly the cleric goes afk ">>
Screens are at lvl 1 lol

Protect useless? It's awesome for pt grinding. If you have fences on a wizard without protect, he hits 5+ mobs.. they all go and hit him. Wizard will die and you might too from other mobs hitting you.
Someone make me an Aion-related sig and I will give you 5 dollhairs.

Re: warrior skills
I'm the worst tanker out there with 8 point less of str, 2h xD
But my friends said they feel protected with me.
I only have Pain Quota, Physical Fence and Protect. Generally as a tanker you buff Wizards, Clerics who uses robe. They're weak against physical attacks not like us. If you buff Clerics they'd be able to heal you and cast Bless Spell. The same goes for Wizards, they'd be able to use Life Control/Life Turnover.
They'd feel more protected.
I think Magical Fence is good to buff other tankers but when I'm partying I'm the only tanker. So, for now, it's useless for me.
Protect is just sweet... if you love to use Maddening get it because it absorbs Wiz/Clerics aggro. =]...
You'll get more mobs around you and that's your role, to tank. =]
I've just spent 7 months on my tanker and that was what i've learnt.
I think my first post on this forum was "what's a buff?". xD
Edit: wish you the best with your tanker

No, you dont buff Cleric, because they dont attract aggro with Healing Cycle/Orbit or Bless.
All you need to fully buff are Wizards, so they can get into LT.
You shouldnt use 2h skills if you're tanker, you should use Sword/Shield, and use taunting skills, not attacking ones. Vital Increase for increased aggro towards you.
7 months and doing your job so wrong ... pretty sad.

Don't be sad, I can teach you some things. =)
Lol, if I need to I switch to 1h but it's possible to tank with 2h...
Maybe I'm so FREAKING skilled with my hands. =)
Vital Increase is a waste of sp... and attack power. From the very first time I skip this skill.
Let me tell you that when I'm the tanker nobody dies.
btw, you've Iron Skin too, you just need to know when you've to use it.
Tanking without it and with 2h yes, it's impossible.
Maybe I'm wrong or not, but I can tank yetis with 2h (I'm currently at lvl 58, to tell you the truth I can handle lvl 70 mobs). And I've seen too many guys tanking with 2h too.
Sprint Assault, Maddening, Bash keep the mobs off and the wiz, clerics safe.
I buff clerics too cuz I don't want them to die and most of my wiz are clerics too.
Oh, I don't use turn rising if you were wondering how do I tank them. I just use it if one of the wiz is going to get hurt so, basically I cast Sprint Assault, Turn Raising, now the mob is after me.
lukefleming1 asked about Protect and Magical Fence... it's obvious that we need/have taunting skills.
There are a lot of guides and ppl who believe in tanking with 2h.
Lol, and those wiz that I've protected... about the 65% quit their char to start a 2h. =)
I think I'm doing it quite well for 7 months and tanking with 2h.
Come to Iris and see me. =)

How much SP do you have? Maybe I misunderstood some things but level 58 in 7 months while you seem to party a lot?:? Unless you grind for a maximum of 20 minutes a day or is farming millions of SP, there's something not right about that.
I don't doubt that you're doing just fine doing what you do but a Warrior using 1h sword and Vital Increase will always be more efficient in parties. Anything else is just a waste of the Warrior's full potential.

Why would I have 2h sword and tank with it, when I can have more defense with 1h and shield? Where's the logic?
Remember, you're not the damage dealer of party, you are tank, vital increase is the way togo, since it increases aggro towards you, and it adds HP.
Clerics dont need to get buffed, even if they got attacked (which shouldnt happen), since they can get attacked only by mob that naturally got aggroed to Cleric, they can survive.
Wizards, on other hand, should get quota & fences + aggro reduce, because of their poor defense + low HP (with LT).
When you get to higher levels, you'll understand.

Re: warrior skills
Nitro is correct there. Although it may be possible to tank effectively with 2h, it's still way better with 1h and shield. Also, vital increase is a very useful skill, you depreciate it because you obviously haven't actually used it yet. As said, the job of a warrior is to tank, not to deal damage. Vital increase helps you get aggro, and considerably increases your HP, which is exactly what you wants as a tanker.
I myself have tanked with a 2h sword, so I understand what you are saying.
Maybe not high levels, but instead good complete parties which would actually require a effective tanker.

Re: warrior skills
s/s is way more effective then a 2h. being an effective tank requires the maxing of the first 2 skill lines of warrior, it doesnt matter which way you look at it you need those skills. and obviously 1h tanks better due to the defense passives. when im tanking at 94 mobs with my lv 81 warrior i only use taunts+ slash and double stab along with the proper buffs., it doesnt matter what lvl you are slash+double stab is the most effect way to tank, because they have low cool down, are quick skills, and contain the aggro. anyone who argues on the side of a 2h tank over a 1h tank is retarded.
also if someones thinking that my ability to tank at lv 94's as a 81 is far fetched, i do have a SoM light/heavy armor set 100% str and HP and a devil spirit. so that helps =P

Re: warrior skills
WEll judging from your post your not in an really effective party otherwise you wouldnt get away with stuff like not taking vital and having a 2hand, atleast not at mobs 7-11 lvs higher. Dont give me the bullshit that you tank fine, I have hand grinded a tanker myself in partys for 100 lvs in extremely good partys.
First of all, max pain quota. It absorbs more then fences and unlike fences, it doesnt redirect dmg to only the tank but to the whole party.
Fences, I would keep em at 50% or so. You have to think about what you like yourself, if they are really high you get all fence dmg and especially when you are luring and not getting heals this can get irritating. If you are main tanking the higher the better.
Vital, skipping this skill is a joke, it increases your hp + aggro, which are the core terms for a tank.
Protect, not really worth it, you can cast it on the lurer when he arrives with a lure to get aggro. IF you are a luring yourself I find protect rather useseless. Since you cant dump the mobs on the cleric and if you have a main tank it will be harder for him to get the aggro. Also luring with protect active is pretty fail since you can only aggro a few mobs at a time. I dont use protect like pain quota + fences, I play around a bit with it.
Screens should be max, even if its only for pvp. 1hand is gonna be really necessary if you are gonna tank at mobs 11 lvs higher. Get all defensive passives.
Edit: Because your cleric has such good defensive for an int and also can keep aggro really well ( Recovery line and such), we used to buff the cleric so we can dump the mobs at him.

Lol my friend lol xD
But it's possible to tank with 2h, which gives me a point. =D
@dutchleader: I don't have screens right now. I'm currently at lvl 60 with a gap and I think I'm doing ok, not so good (thanks to the replies xD) but that's another story related to SP for future lvls.
I'll try Vital Increase. I didn't like that skill because of the physical power attack reduction... but if you've played for 100 lvls with your 2h and using it I should give it a chance.
OT: bullshit was not necessary =)

Sometimes i use all these buffs on my taxi ... so he can be nice nd give me extra hour..since he is saving like 70% of his hp pots. anyway warrior/cleric build is the best build in any party.

What kind of pitty taxi do you have if he needs to pot health points?
Why would Warrior/Cleric be best in party? How does Cleric subclass benefits to party?

Bunch of unexperienced Warriors in this topic, you will, as Warrior, almost never buff people with Cleric skills in party, because there will be always Cleric.
