About SP Farming

Post by NyteProwleR »

I know there are a ton of guides, but I have a simple question and just want an answer:

I know you can sp farm, or not SP farm...what will happen to me if I don't? Is it just that other people my level will have more/better skills than me? As time goes on, and I level up...will/can an SP farmer vs. a non-sp farmer be equals?

Well you don't have to sp farm.

You can have a gap which will in turn give you more sp than xp.
since you are a wizard you shouldnt farm just hold a gap.

IIR, all you need is a 4 gap for all wizard skills.

this site helps ou tons, www.nivlam.com

you can just lvl with a 3-4 gap instead of farming. you skills will be slightly weaker than the could be but its not that big of a deal. but dont try to keep a 0 gap.

If you don't like SP farm you can go for a very minimalistic build like a warrior with only 1 hand, no sub. Or a wizzard with only 2 or 3 spell classes. Your build will always be weaker than a farmed one because you miss skills. A wizzard alone is weaker than a wizzard with a cleric sub at the same level.

The big con of the system is that when you reach level 100 you miss lots of sp compared to a full farmed build and you have to gather those SP on mobs of the level of your masteries, so ways slower than on mobs a couple of levels higher. There aren't that many mobs of highest range and the best spots are taken in by bot parties. You can eventually start farming at level 91 and keep the gap till you are level 100 it will give a nice amount of sp.

If you don't like the idea of a very huge farm early in game you can do it in several steps. I'm not someone who likes staying on the same mobs for weeks, so I did a full wizzard/cleric farm at level 20, 40, 60, I'm close to have a full farm 80, I'll remain a bit longer in gap to collect some SP and than go for the level 100. The build is full farmed and my highest gap was gap 6 till now. I took those levels because most new wizzard skills come in at those levels, you can eventually change the level according to your build and focus on the important ones. During farm I took a nice pimped up set +3 and +4 with nice blues on it, for the rest I take the NPC stuff, my own drops (I try to exchange my chinese drops for robes in union) or cheap stuff (no blues) that I find in stall network and add a couple of elixirs on it.

In the end with the zero gap method you will manage to be full farmed but it will take more time than with a farming.

wow thanks for this info.
i just decided to quit silkroad [dont feel guilty or anything like that lol]
...I think that's so stupid that they tried to make a game where one of the main features is to force players to tediously grind...and they KNOW it's tedious and disliked.

Ow it's not all about grinding or farming, it's about having fun.
We got quite a discusion today in union about that, since we are legit we don't level up as fast as bots do, but we try to have a max of fun out of the game even if it means that we loose 5* trades. It took us more than 2 hours with 5* from don to hotan to loose it in the end. But we got lots of fun. Thieves killing traders, hunters killing thieves, it was a ream ambush and tons of fun.

yeah, lol I think I overeacted = /
I've decided to give it one more shot if someone can make me understand what I need to do to SP farm. Like step by step for-dummies explanation. The guides don't really help cause some are out of date and they use lingo I don't understand - I just want a straight forward answer. [I'm making a post about it in "character skills" ATM =p]
But thanks for your help, and yeah I'm legit too and I'm going to give it a chance.

Well there is a huge difference between getting SP with a chinese character and a euro character, if you can give me the build you want?
