One of my father's colleagues got a Nigeria email with the story of some guy inheriting 5 million bucks, but because he can't afford a passport to identify himself to collect the money he is now sending emails to everyone.
You only had to pay $50, the fee for a passport, and then he would give you 10% of his 5 million.

This colleague was seriously considering it.
