When you look back...
and realise everything has changed. How do you handle it?
My whole time at Tech i kept planning on having all my friends come out for my graduation. And just the other day when i was talking to my mom about her driving out for graduation(dec 19) she asked if she wanted me to have a friend ride with them. And i realised i couldnt think of a single person i cared about if they came out( besides family). Im excited to graduate but im struggling with the fact that all my friends back home i just dont care about anymore. So how do you deal with it when nothings the way u always imagined.

Its not that bad, you dont need anyone anyway cept some close people. Most of your friends from high school disappear anyway...no matter where you are.

Theres only one person you can rely on in life, yourself. In the end you are the only person who will be here. Family, friends, comrades, in the end they wont be there. Were born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Just accept that fact and be happy with it.

Re: When you look back...
A little from me: I remember i met this enchanting girl when I was 17 years old, and what I loved most was that she had so much soul. She was beautiful, but don't confuse this with any standard crush. We connected on a level that people that young aren't supposed to be able to. She was a little older, so she was able to help me with a lot of things in my life. At that age it's difficult to find someone who can relate to you. She was able to help me in areas that most people struggle with. Things like my emotions, my difficulties coming to terms with the seemingly generic outside world, and my relationship with my parents. She was always there for me.
At one point, my parents got concerned that I was too into her, but after a while they understood: I was in love. Then one day she told me that she wanted to study Biology and that it would force her to move to nearly the other side of the country, she promised to stay in touch with me, but as you suspect she never did, she got so absorbed in her work and study, that she just forgot about me, or that's what i told myself. Needless to say, i never heard anything from her ever since. So when i reflect back. It feels like i lost something, and no matter with how many girls i socialize with, the feelings i once had, have never show up again.
I guess the moral of the story is. ''You are better off alone(?)''

Unfortunately when that sinks in and becomes your reality, it isn't a very happy or pleasant experience.

lols maybe for you but i have people who care about me. I have people i care about. I'd like to think these people will always feel this way about me so i do. If you go through your life planning the for the worst and and expecting the worst all you'll get is the worst. Im willing to face massive dissapointment again and again because thats just life. Take the good with the bad but don't deny yourself to much of either, makes everything much more worthwhile. Theres nothing deep about thinking you die alone especially in a world where everything is so closely connected...
@exality
Move on. friends will constantly come in and out of your life, eventually you'll make new one, but if there are some who stick around remember to appreciate them a bit more.

Re: When you look back...
I remember a lot and it's really bad because I can think of all the good things that I have lost, or just don't care about any more. I see the wasted time, and effort of everything I have done. It really sucks, so I try to not think about the past any more. I just look towards my future which is really bleak also, but gotta look at something.
Joymax, what a joke. (Thanks to Grandpa for the sig)

ive had such a similar situation, aint normal.
i was 16, lots off setbacks back then... and "she" was always there for me.
Also an older girl, talked to her when i woke up, was at school, came home, went to bed (all day).
but well, losing her was really really hard, even after more then a year it still gets me sad if i remember it.
though... i dont think i'dd be better off alone, even though you think you are many times.
2 bad if you trust people so much, and are so close to them, they can still leave and forget
so at topic starter: with just your family you'll be fine
at my graduation only my step sister, step mother and father were there ^^
so, just take it as it comes, and try to make the best off it

Re: When you look back...
I didn't make many friends at school because most of them were fckin jerk offs.
Now that we go seperated ways because most of the other guys failed to graduate i just crumple the remains of those memories and gain other friends.
Just look ahead.

Just keep on rollin dude
To say since, the being is not or the non-being is, is wrong to say against it, the being is and the non-being is not, is right.

I think everybody thinks their first love is something special, but really it's not, it's just puppy love. But people think puppy love means juvenile love which isn't anything, but really it's the opposite, it's the strongest love you'll ever feel because it's so new and you don't know that though you say things one day the next day they can totally be different, and you dare to dream things can last forever, which is why puppy love is indeed the strongest and best love, and why people always think that their first love is so amazing.
I don't really believe in love anymore though, I think you can have feelings of love, but they will dissappear soon enough, I don't believe any relationship can last forever (and be happy), unless one of the pair is a martyr, and the other remains ignorant to it to some degree, otherwise, feelings of love will go down. Even in my hypothetical relationship, I believe they can remain happy forever, but I don't believe they will consider it love, but who knows?

Thats why i concider Loving, and being in love different things.
and hey, i dont think its that bad to just be happy with someone ^^ even if the "in love" feeling faints, if your happy its all thats needed.
and yea, fist love is surely something special, but it was mainly special coz "that girl" was just a really special girl lol ^^ always loved to talk to her, could have nothing on my mind say hi and talk to her all day
But well, i dont really care anymore, sometimes miss her but i can live with it (now).
but kinda drifted off topic here ^^
