News: A court in Turkey ordered the ban of YouTube in Turkey, apparently because some Greeks and Turkish people have been trading insults on video on YouTube. According to the Times Online, “Greek videos reportedly accused the founding president of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, of homosexuality; a Turkish user responded by calling Greece the birthplace of homosexuality. It is illegal to criticise either Ataturk or Turkishness in Turkey and the prosecutor’s office in Istanbul acted despite YouTube’s agreement to take down the offending videos.” Turk Telecom, a state ISP, complied with the court order and shut down access to YouTube throughout Turkey.

So you wanna reduce the population? Global that Mustafa Kemal Ataturk is gay, send it to the Turkish gov't and VIOLA! A HUGE slice of the population is gone.

People forget history. I prance around in sro saying I'm an Australian to a Turk and they replied with a "Oh thats nice, I love Australia" (translated). I'm like "Huh..". They dont even remember their history. Dont forget Gallipoli. We remember that day over here, ANZAC is coming up April 25, whilst most turks dont even know its significance.

This is my first message on this forum . First of all i am a turkish guy and guess what, not good at english so please excuse me and my english. BTW, there is no working translator for turkish (dictionaries does not count)

I think i am the one of oldest and noobest players in this game .

I was never use bots and any other illegal programs. I was never scammed, never KS'ed, never sweared (in any language), never begged for money (i begged for res a few times )... I saw your feelings about (some) turks . I am very sorry for these. I don't like and even hate their behaviors. But this kind (banning) ideas are far from the solution.
I know there is huge barricade of language but most important thing is cultural. I think there is no good or bad things in cultural issues.

I will go in turkish after that, because my english very poor and limited and i know there are some turkish SRFers.

I welcome any players from any culture and religion,

But i dislike a lot those who don'tr make any effort to get involved into the international communauty.

It s a pity to state the fact that in a praty where you don't understand the language, most of the time you will get a translation into english if you ask, ... most of the time if it's not turkish , in that case get ready to be ignored.

I had the problem, my brother did.
and i was even more sad when i see that a player in my academy only did the effort to talk english after he see that he can get some plvl and gold from me...

You are right, all players must learn at least in game terms properly. I know english is international language now. That is why ISRO in english. But i know turkish and english totally different languages. Almost all european languages (excluding finnish and magyar) have almost same structure. Actually we have/had english lessons almost all schools... That is why no "lack of english" but "broken english". Fortunately you don't know turkish so you don't understand worst parts

I said in my first post about cultural differencies. One of them is the communication with other people. Turks always wants to "communicate" with other people. There is no limit about "why", "when", "how" etc. And swearing unfortunately became very widespread in their real life. I think some of them sees that is the way of communication .

Turkish hospitability is one of the best things we have, but behind keyboard(internet) and behind wheel (driving) some turks are worst creatures in the world

A suggestion: if you have an annoying situation with a turk, ask him "yas?" or "yaş?" (means "age?"). Ignore him if the answer below ~23.
Or ask to turks who are good at english for help. They will very probably help you if you ask kindly.

On the other hand i was ignored a few times because of my honest (they would never know i am a turk if i wasn't said). But believe me i didn't do any bad thing at that moment(except kindly asking for res. If asking for res is rude i din't know that). That is also very annoying and sad to be ignored while you are innocent. I am trying to change that very bad image, in every conversation and i hope i will... Just like this forum's fighting on botters.

Actually fisyon is right, most of the Turks you meet are very young kids, passionate about being Turkish and generally immature. Mai and Asyamura are the real Turks I know, both are older, both are awesome people.

In my honest opinion, there will always be racism and prejudice.
It is almost natural of the human being.

Anyways, I sincerely dont like turks; it is probably cause of that massive amount of turk newbies that are playing. They just come from nowhere asking for party, money and items. Always. It is impossible to deny this.
And I sincerely never found a friendly/intelligent(at my point of view) turk (maybe cause they cant speak english), though I really dont have this kind of feeling/prejudice to other races/countries.
And I do know people and have friends from all over the world.

ima global this when i get home ahah, theres a lot of older turks players on rome to, for instance go look up 3_Hilal full sun +6-7 set with sun +9 bow, hes 41 years old and the most hated guy on rome, he acts like a 12 year old and he spawn kills ppl in pvp just for being non turk, a few turks i like but theres like 2, turks are a bigger problem in my eyes then everything else in sro, they cause much more traffic then gold bots and most of them have premiums, a very large percentage of them are scammers to and they are best ppl at pising you off

Even though generalization is easy and is the best solution to judge turks most of the time, let's not forget the nice turks out there..

There are quite a few of them on Xian who won't hurt a fly and some are one of my best friends <3 and they hate the many turk kids playing this game just as much as we do

If some remember , before the Vietnamese people got theyr own Sro , they were the ones who had to suffer this " online racism ".

It s not about Turk, or whatever the nation , it is about human's will/need/habit/or tendancy to league groups against groups ;
