Religion Thread
born and raised catholic.
drowned in catholic muslim and jewish history [because they intertwine]
^the drowning in history, and the massive contradictions in the bible, is what made me a zen agnostic
follow the strict discipline of zen, and have the belief there is a god, BUT it cannot be personified as if human.
also its not organized, and im the only member

im just like mike, to me a religion is just something used to stop ppl from commiting crimes like laws.
And for religious people its something that gives them 'hope'.
i dont believe in religoin... i agree with the hope part but stop them from commiting crimes.... bull, religion caused so much death, nazi, the crusade... no it does not prevent people from crimes.

thnx Kraq

Nor the early civilizations that where able to survive by them, I suppose.
I believe that killers will kill. Religion is just another excuse for the deed.

I'm sorry to say that you're wrong, hun.
Just felt like pointing it out. :3
actually, theres like 50 wars that happened because of religion namely christianity, judaism, and islam
for example the crusades (which were worthless imo)
and another, hitler and his holocuast because he was a retard and thought jews were bad
and the iraq war zomg! extremist islamds are turning the iraq war into a religion war, which it wasn't supposed to be in the first place

Never go to church nor do my family...however I guess I can call myself a catholic...do share some of the believes but that goes for some other religions too.

anyone herd of the book/movie called "The God who wasnt there?" If you haven't and you're a christian, I suggest not watching it <_<
also, I dunno about religion, most religions in one way or another state if you don't believe in their religion your f'd. So, we're all f'd. I also believe people who put faith into god and heaven etc, only do so because they want to go to heaven, and fear hell..not because they truly accept him as their savior. (yes, I went beyond what this topic asked, I'm sorry)
I'd also like to point out being a christian isn't a premium gold ticket to heaven, if you don't truly believe/accept the religion..(or so my old pastor used to tell me, minus the gold ticket)
