well, most metal bands sound crappy on CD... you have to see them live on stage and you will understand this whole metal scene is not about being evil or whatever... it's simply having fun in a diffrent way
it might sound weird, but i always find the atmosphere at concerts very peaceful and friendly <- no joke o_O

I'm not much of a metalperson.
I prefer punkrock and hardcore to minor degree (the line is vague).
v the line up of the festival I'm going to on Saturday. To bad not all bands are to my liking and some bands I want to see play semi-together.

Some is ok.. Vader, Deicide, Cryptopsy, Naglfar, Amon Amarth, of course Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, Dismembered Fetus, Dimmu Borgir, Diabolic, and I too enjoy Children of Bodom which can certainly be classified as Death Metal.. that's all I can think of right now.
It gets a little repetative though, like all genres, how many songs can you make about dismembering flesh.

ok...........
what im curious about is: can somebody upload the
lyrics of a good death metal band? i would really like
to know what lyrics the ppl think are good since it
seems thats one of the things that make death metal
good music.
post me some nice lyrics of dimmu borgir or whatever
and i will read them through. probably, my english will
not be good enough to see the actual meaning of the
text, but i would like to give it a try anyway. id like to
read what ppl in here listen to.

well from marylin manson, closest thing to death/black metal that i'm listening to. oh and this guy worked with God, I mean Trent Reznor, so his lyrics are the pwnzor
if you can't get all check http://www.songmeanings.net a pretty nice website
Marilyn Manson - Target Audience
Am I sorry your sky went black,
put your knives in babies backs?
Am I sorry you killed the Kennedy's and Huxley too?
But I'm sorry Shakespeare
was your scapegoat
and your apples sticking into my throat
Sorry your Sunday smiles are rusty nails
and your crucifixion commercials failed
but I'm just a pitiful anonymous
And I see all the young believers
Your target audience
I see all the old deceivers
we all just sing their song
Am I sorry to be alive
putting my face in the beehive?
Am I sorry for Booth and Oswald, pinks and cocaine too?
I'm sorry you never check
the bag in my head for a bomb
and my halo was a needle hole
I'm sorry I saw a priest being beaten
and I made a wish
but I'm just a pitiful anonymous
And I see all the young believers
Your target audience
I see all the old deceivers
we all just sing their song
we all just sing their song
"the valley of death we are free
your father's your prison you see"
And I see all the young believers
Your target audience
I see all the old deceivers
we all just sing their song
you're just a copy of an imitation
Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals
We were neurophobic and perfect
the day we lost our souls.
Maybe we weren't so human, but
If we cry, we will rust.
And I was a hand grenade that
never stopped exploding.
You were automatic
and as hollow as the "o" in God.
I am never gonna be the one for you.
I am never gonna save the world from you.
They'll never be good to you
or bad to you.
They'll never be anything,
anything at all.
You were my mechanical bride,
phenobarbidoll.
A mannequeen of depression with
the face of a dead star.
And I was a hand grenade that
never stopped exploding.
You were automatic
and as hollow as the "o" in God.
I am never gonna be the one for you.
I am never gonna save the world from you.
They'll never be good to you
or bad to you.
They'll never be anything,
anything at all.
They'll never be good to you
or bad to you.
They'll never be anything,
anything at all.
I am never gonna be the one for you.
I am never gonna save the world from you.
This isn't me, I'm not mechanical.
I'm just a boy playing the suicide king.
Yeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
...Playing the suicide king.
(I'm just a boy...)
...Playing the suicide king.

This probably isn't the best example but the first song I thought of was Burn In Hell by Dimmu Borgir
For the record I usually like music for features other than lyrics or vocals, I'm more of an instrumental/beats kinda guy.
Welcome to the abandoned land
Come on in, child; take my hand
Here there's no work or play
Only one bill to pay
There's just five words to say
As you go down, down, down
You're gonna burn in hell
Oh, burn in hell
You can't believe all the things i've done wrong in my life
Without even trying i've lived on the edge of a knife
Well, i've played with fire, but i don't want to get myself burned
To thine own self be true, so i think that it's time for a turn
Before i burn in hell
Oh, burn in hell
Take a good look in your heart; tell me what do you see?
It's black and it's dark, now is that how you want it to be?
It's up to you; what you do will decide your own fate
Make your choice now for tomorrow may be far too late
Hear no evil, don't you
See no evil, don't you
Lay no evil down on me
You're gonna burn in hell
Speak no evil, don't you
Think no evil, don't you
Play with evil, 'cause i'm free

lol first thing i see in the lyrics is that they sing 6 words not 5
anyways this gives me some insight of the ppl that actually
listen to the lyrics and tell ppl that this is the reason why they
like this music so much. i cant imagine what wrongs ppl must
have done to you to think these lyrics make any sense and
to think it is good to seriously listen to these lyrics.

lol you dont make it sound too positive towards
the metal lyrics..
sounds like "yes the metal lyrics are bad.. but
no worse than those emo bands"
~emo bands which you do not like for their lyrics.
and i rather hear em cutting their lives into pieces
than their bodies.
I dunno too much about deathmetal but I listen too:
Bullet for my Valentine,Element Eighty,Taproot and sum other bands. The type of music they play is the "hardest" type of music I listen too
. I dunno far or close that is to deathmetal.
