You get sniper rifles before ACT I in the story is over and you can buy a silencer, so you're not missing out on anything. Actually I'd say it's an annoyance since when you start your inv space is terrible and they stick the rifle + ammo in there and you just can't carry anything.

SM-Count wrote:Oh, they never restock? Will that sucks, guess I'll be swimming in a pool filled with ammo then. There's nothing to spend money on if you want to maximize xp with ghost + smooth operator since you don't use ammo when you do that.

They restock each time you visit the city depending on where you are in the story. But if you've been smooth operating/ghosting + hacking everything and using take downs you'll end up with enough points to get everything anyway. at least everything you want. I'm back in shanghai and i believe i'm closing in on the end of the game, not sure but i've got just about every aug except hack:analyze, dermal, respitory, aim, silent walking, stealh enhancer, and smart vision. And i've got 9 praxis points just sitting there because i don't really need any more upgrades but for some reason i don't want to spend the points.

You're right. It takes away from the RPG experience a bit but i've done every sidequest so far that the game can offer. I've hacked just about every computer. I've reloaded a save dozens of times until i've kill the guards the right way so i'm not seen. I think i've earned the right to be a bit powerful. Plotwise you're supposed to have access to all of the augs anyway. They're already in your body and you lvling up is just you "naturally" getting used to the augmentation so if you look at it like that eventually Jenson is meant to have all his augs fully activated anyway.

The problem with that skill system is you're a powerful badass, but you're their powerful badass. You can't even choose simple things like being a powerful badass that specializes in sniper rifles or pistols or something, even just a +30% dmg on pistols if you use that weapon the most would at least make it feel like I have choice.

Also, I have no idea how this is getting so many perfect scores. Does the story get dramatically better? It's literally the generic love-interest dies (maybe dies in this case), who's only your love interest because she's the only woman to appear in the first 30 minutes of cut scenes/scripted walks and not because she's characterized and you feel legitimate empathy for her, and you go fight nameless, faceless, generic, government/big military conglomerate bad guys that are, if this is even possible, characterized less than your "love interest". (who I still don't give a shit about, I honestly care more about that one preachy hobo behind the gas station than her)

If this was a FPS I wouldn't give a shit, if I'm playing CoD just point out the bad guys and I'll go kill them, no need for a detailed back story or well rounded character development, tell me which color I'm aiming for and I'm good to go. But this game is getting reviewed and praised as a action/RPG game. As I said above the story is completely meh (so far *disclaimer*) on the RPG side, the skill system is downright horrendous for a RPG game (no other RPG game gets away with this shit where you make everyone into the same thing, even warrior, rogue, mage has more variety than this) and the combat is more than terrible so you can't even pass this off as an action game. It is, however, ok as a half-way decent stealth game even if the AI is dumber than bricks and once you get a silencer and the 2 for 1 knockout upgrade you can do whatever the **** you want. Every reviewer out there must've been at the same hallucinogenic orgy while reviewing to have that good of an experience with this game.

Can't wait for the new ratchet and clank game, how action/rpg/platforming should be done.

Oh, and first boss, just chuck fire extinguishers at him for free stuns lol

I tried playing stealth like, but it was just frustrating. I finished the first mission in the factory - I got 1 shot headshots on every single enemy; like a boss. Skimming on the previous posts, it doesn't seem like I will get rewarded that much for noisy, out in the open, bang bang kills.

You lose 30 xp a kill plus the 500 bonus for ghost and 250 bonus for smooth operator for doing silent stuff, which honestly really sucks, I wanted to play a gun toting shoot 'em up badass. I still might since it doesn't really matter, you have more than enough skill points.

Yeah, they should reward you with just as much points for a 1-shot-1-kill as they do for the take downs.

At first I didn't think the game was that good. Because I had nothing else to do and I paid full price, I played it for a little while longer. Then I felt like the game was ok, but nothing special. A couple hours later I realized I had just spent the past couple hours hacking every terminal in the area and opening every door/exploring every building/punching through every wall. Then, suddenly, 3:39am.

I find myself constantly rage quitting every time I pick this game up again. I'm still at the second boss (I haven't played in a while) and I focused all my augs on pretty much everything but the anti-shock armor, typhoon, and marksman upgrades; which is pretty much what's needed to kill this stupid cunt.
I'm playing on medium difficulty and i've died pretty much like 50 times trying to kill this bitch. Her typhoon takes 2/3 of my health; so I'm dead in 2 typhoons.

It takes typhoon and like 5 combat rifle shots to kill her (on hardest difficulty). Just typhoon as soon as the fight starts, she'll charge into your typhoon like an idiot and get stunned, shoot her a couple times and typhoon again before she breaks the first typhoon stun. It was the second dumbest fight in the entire game.

Actually it might be better you never finish it, you'll have a better impression of it. The game has one of the most craptastic endings in video game history ever. Worse than most games that are begging for sequels and just don't have an ending.

WHY. IS. THIS. GAME. GETTING. PERFECT. SCORES.

Do emp grenades work on her like the first boss? 2 EMPs and a fire extinguisher + my full combat rifle ammo killed him in about 45 seconds, she doesn't appear to have that much more health. If that doesn't work, go buy frag grenades and remote det devices and chuck them at her when she's typhooning, should kill her in about 3 hits + some combat rifle rounds.

I found the second boss easy once I got it. I also had none of the useful augs (no typhoon, no electricity immunity, etc). The floor is covered in water and the walls have 4 transformer things. You just shoot them until they blow up, everyone gets shocked. During this phase you keep jumping up and down and you should have a little health left. Keep running around the ring until you find some health packs in the closets and take one. If you can't find any, just run until your health is back to 100%. Repeat with the shocking until all 4 have been used. Then just shoot her a couple times with any gun and she should die (IIRC it took me 1 full sniper clip, 7 or 9 rounds I don't remember).

I saved between each transformer to save time as it did take a couple attempts. It was, however, not as frustrating as getting her to miss her melee on you and hit the transformers (what I think you're supposed to do).

When you blow them up make sure you're a distance away so you only get the residual AOE and not the explosion. It doesn't matter where she's standing - she will get the AOE in full (without jumping).

EDIT: For the record I beat this game in 2 extended sittings. It was one of the most enjoyable games I have played in a long time and one of my all time favourites.

I guess this boss is actually fun if you don't have typhoon? If you have typhoon lvl 2 it's literally a 10 second fight.

After my 3rd sit down with this boss. I finally beat her, and it only took me about 20 shotgun rounds, 1 emp mine, 2 concussion mines, 1 frag mine, and 2 of the generators exploding.

The reviews for it are good. I'm going through DA2 again quickly to play the two DLCs released for that. After I'll try and finish DE:HR main and try the DLC. TBH I got bored of DE:HR and decided to play Rage instead which I thought was a blast.

I just barely bought the game on OnLive (My pc sucks).
Anyways I spent the whole damn game knocking people out and using only the tranquilizer and when I reach the end I didn't get the pacifist achievement. What the shit. Now I don't even care I'm just gonna shoot up the whole damn world.
