Sounds more like a drunk trying to spell.

I thought it was pretty good.

Evolutionist: This is how humans evolved, see this fossil record.
Christian: NO! God put us here! Adam and Eve you numbnuts!

Pepsi is how it is, coke is wrong. I liked his analogy. :P

Or rather an analogy to a narrow minded person who chooses to believe one thing rather than what someone else believes (which just may as well be just as wrong).

What. How can you choose to believe in the spelling of Pepsi? It is Pepsi. Fact.

That's like saying "I don't believe in chairs". What?

Evolution is a fact, it happens, the theory attempts to explain how. Please God not another tangent...

People who speak and write in a different language do not spell Pepsi using P E P S I.
Therefore not fact. I can also just as easily say I believe Pepsi is spelled "PEPSEE"
If a child who does not know how to spell and spells Pepsi "incorrectly" but does not know any different then that "way" is fact, and correct, to the child.

Nobody ever said chairs were real (Not say I don't believe in chairs) you simply choose to believe so because you can touch and see it. You believe what your eyes and brain interpret which can sometimes be wrong. But it becomes reality to you.

No. Pepsi is spelled Pepsi in his example. Don't be difficult, you know exactly what he meant.

Second paragraph: Yes, but using that logic all things are subjective. This could be true, but it's not practical for discussion. Anything you say could be retorted with, "in your reality".

On topic: Video was good. :P

I'd love to discuss why I believe what I do and what evidence there is to support my beliefs, hopefully you can do the same, though I highly doubt it. (Not pointed directly at you Devil).

chill out.

First of all, im not religious at all. I agree w/ evolution and science. i believe in my own god, not the one in the bibles/koran/vedas. For some reason atheists seem to believe that every person who believes in god goes to church every week, prays 3 times a day, or follows the bible/koran/vedas word for word. Most "theists" don't. Also, their are more religions than the Abrahamic ones.

secondly, my point is that people (hardcore atheists) keep making threads trying to show how stupid religion is. If you are so sure, just keep it to yourself, dont try to press it on other people, same goes for religious people, except they don't keep making threads posting how stupid science is. In the end, the atheists will still believe w/e they believe, the religious people will still believe in their beliefs.

@Gaige; its more like someone spells theater as "t h e a t e r" then someone else comes along and gives a whole list of facts why its "t h e a t r e"
let it gooooo let it gooooOoOooOOOOOO

Strong reading comprehension... (Bold)

Second, I thought I was posting in a forum. You know, where people discuss things. Oh wait, you are elevating religion to it's untouchable status, typical. Like I said earlier, I rarely discuss religion outside forums / internet unless specifically asked.

That's the way I believe it. I believe in a higher being that can be either good or evil. This "being" created us as humans, as well as the universe. This god is not bound by any religion. It is simply our "creator".

Deist. Or do you believe he/it intervenes in your life? Also, does the fact that evolution clearly shows how homosapiens evolved from prior species, all the way back to one celled organisms, not bother you? Serious question, not an attack. (It's sad I have to say that...)

you can throw the truth in ppl faces man, but they chose what to believe, right or wrong, but what seperates atheism from religions, is we're able to give real world evidence, common sense, and logic, something no other religion has been able to do, they just ask for faith, we ask for facts, facts and faith my friends are two very different things, something over 6 billion people should consider before they kill another person for what they believe

I do not believe it intervenes with life, I just believe it creates it. I believe this 'being' created the big bang and everything that followed afterwards like evolution. What I'm trying to say is, everything science has shown us is correct, but a 'being' just created everything. I just think something powerful had to create life. If you get what I'm trying to say.

On another note, the reason these threads anger people is because people start to bash it. They also tend not to have a serious discussion without hurting the views of others. I'm personally open for all views and discussion, if I Believe you're right, I would say you are right. :)

I know where it comes from. I mean, you really think the people that believe The Christian/Jewish is literally a 7 day account is literal? Let me type it straight out:

The bible does specify an Age at all. These people take the outrageous ages of people in the bible, add it up, and take it seriously. I don't have a bible on-hand and really don't feel like looking for mine but to basically summarize the minority young Earth Creationist group:

Adam was 700 y/o
Abraham was 1000 y/o
Isaac was >9000 Years old
Add this up
Get 4000
Jesus was born after the death of Bob, Peter, and Sally. Their cumaltive age is 2000
The Earth is 6000 Years old

Also, the earth was made in 7 24 hour days. True story.

You want me to take the minority extremist views that the bible does not specify (again, it's their interpretation.) seriously. It's hard enough taking normal religious people seriously. Not going to take extremist seriously, especially when they regularly ignore or twist their holy book.

Let's see if I understand, magical dude ? cool, talking snake ? cool, resurrecting jewish superbeing who can pull all sort of bullshit while contradicting himself on top of being a flawed character ? cool, punishing humanity for eating an apple ? cool, events happening in 7 days FHGKLJHLK:JHKHGJGFKJHGKLJHKJH cannot compute.

You are also forgetting God is a perfect being and off this title he inherits traits such as always in effect perfect communication skills ( the same title that makes his existence impossible ), this alone destroys the structure of our tale when any conflict regarding the story occurs. Anyways you are trying to decide who among the insane has the better story on x subject and as I see it that has little worth when you take all things into considering.

Getting some sleep here, later.

Reactions happen all the time. It's how molecules and atoms work. I don't study into it much, but knowing that science says that that is what happens, and that science supports those claims, is what makes me choose science over religion.

I don't know. Do you? I do know it is the interaction of molecules, atoms, subatomic particles. Where did these come from? Big bang nucleosynthesis. Where did that come from? Baryogenesis. That's as far back as I can go.

Maybe it is all an autopoietic process. (It creates itself) (I think consciousness is an autopoietic process)

its a common thing to believe that anything created must be created by a knowledgeable creature, but its a misconception, there is nothing to prove that only a creature can create something, thus making a being creator not a only option
