i will go with fire, it will make the monster or player to lose health over time. Also, fire allows you to do more damage then lightning or cold. But, lightning make monsters or players decrease parry ratio which will allow the player to do more criticals. Before you can do a critical, the burning from the fire imbue will do much more then the critical.
