you cant explain, SUn is toally random, some guy got a lvl 42 SUN bow from PENON warriors, and other guy got a 64 SOS shield from PENON fighters, so there is no explanation.
Actually from my observation mobs drop Seal items either 1 grade below, the same grade or 1 grade above, but not more.
A Tiger dropped me 24 Sos Glavie, Tiger's are what 2d? 24 sos glavie seems to be 4d if I'm not stupid like usual...

If you have 100 people grinding on Mages and there are 50 SoSun drops that is a 1:2 drop per person ratio (50%). If there are 10 people grinding anything else and there are 9 SoSun drops the ratio is 9:10 (90 drops for every 100 people), which is a much higher drop rate (90%). These numbers are just examples, but seeing as how everyone says that Mages drop more SoSuns then the more people that will grind Mages, which means more total SoSun drops, but does not necessarily mean a higher drop rate.
Theres like .. 4x as many snipers as mages. Yet from experience and asking where suns got dropped, I can safely say mages drop the most.
errm, didn't we say that the reason for having that much 8 DEG SUN is because 9 DEG SOX is made into 8 DEG SUN, because we don't have 9 DEG SOX yet. And weren't snipers lvl 74 ? so this means they cant drop 9 DEG STUFF , including 9 DEG SOX ( they can sometimes, but this is very very rare, as i said before, SOX item are dropped randomly ).
And we all know mages can drop 9 DEG STUFF, so they also can drop 9 DEG SOX, so this means that they have a higher chance to drop 8 DEG SUN items.
So you guys are lucky now, but not anymore when we get 9 deg
