Most blackheads are covered with skin or very deeply rooted. Strips are used mostly for whiteheads, which turn into blackheads.
If you take something rather rough and rub it against your nose you can break the thin layer of skin or atleast loosen the material stuck in the pore and use a strip to pull it out, but relying solely on strips for blackheads won't do much other then remove the occasional blackhead and leave behind many.

Black heads and white heads are the accumulation of dirty and oils into your pore. They don't go away, they turn black, then a layer of skin grows over them.
That's like you don't have to whipe your ass, it will just go away.
