The desktop days are indeed numbered...The trend in computer technology is to go smaller lighter, thinner and more powerful....and the OS follows along by being tailored to the form factor of the device you use....ie touch screen and more intuitive interactivity....

I would not be suprised to hear of a tablet that rivals poweful desktops in computing power and capability 10 years from now.... There is a BOYD (Bring your own device to work) movement if you read most tech articles and a lot of companies are catching on....That means a lot more laptops and tablets in the work place with the only desktops being servers...
