The amount of stupidity in this forum is too damn high.

You don't have to care about their "movement", the point of the video was to spread the word about Kony, and it did that very effectively. You don't need to vandalize the streets and protest like a twat, you just need to show your support to keep the small amount of troops in Africa to help the local military catch Kony.

And for all you people saying "blah blah there will always be another derp derp", if this campaign is successful, it is a message to all others that if the people of the world really stand together, they can actually make a difference and stop these war criminals.

bro, there only can come good things out of this projects. atleast people now know of this Kony and even though he may not be as powerful as he used to be, people are learning about child soldiers and ruthless african warlords. people can start discussions about it now and maybe it will force politics to do something too. far too long have we been silent while Africa is getting raped. if there is one continent this world has fcked, it is Africa. nearly all the problems Africa is facing now are a direct result of imperialism and colonism. Kony isn't the only one you know.

you can disagree with all their methods and all the actions they took, but still the positive effects outweigh any wrong decissions they made. this has reached the Dutch news and I even saw stalls in sro-r with KONY 2012 lol.

atleast someone is trying to do something, because most of us just do nothing and can't wait to critize someone who's actually doing something. it seems like a natural thing that we first look for the bad things rather then the good things.

And about the Invisible Children being a scam crap. Where does all the info keep coming from on that? Because every other place I read it, It's way different.. I they didn't ask for donations, they wouldn't have even been accused of it.

I don't think their message is stupid, but they ask for donations but spend less than 30% of their total revenue on "Direct Services" to the kids in Uganda. There is also $5million that is unaccountable for.

Ignoring that the movement wants to send millions of dollars to an untrustworthy organization that has no accountability...

Ignoring that arming the other side will cause them to fight Kony's group which is full of, you guessed it, child soldiers. This means that you're arming a group to KILL the group that you're supposed to be wanting trying to save which will inevitably result in the deaths of thousands of children...

Ignoring that arming and training one distant unaccountable group to fight another slightly worse group has backfired several times before (See: Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, Khmer Rouge, Khmer Bleu, Saddam Hussein, Guatemalan Death Squads, El Salvador Death Squads, etc) Please note that when i say backfire i don't mean like "The car my dad bought me for my birthday backfired, thank god he pays my insurance" I mean it normally results in dictators, terrorist or just a lot of innocent civilians getting killed thanks to a power struggle brought about by giving guns to strangers...

Ignoring that as far as African warlords are concerned Kony isn't even that big of a problem right now. Something anyone who knows anything about the state of the continent or even the general region would know...

I agree with everything except the last part. They pay themselves 90k for 55 hour work weeks. That seems fairly reasonable considering the fact that they have been working on this project for a very long time.

The LRA will collapse soon anyways. It still wreaks havoc in the Congo, but they are down to hundreds of soldiers, rather than the thousands that they had before.
