Is 40 a lot?
Mine runs 93 right now (usually about 80-95)

I don't really know why it requires so many processes. I mean.. there are like 6 "svchost.exe" at the same time xD

Anyway, good luck solving your problem. Right now Silkroad takes 672.260 kb which is quite normal on Windows 7 I guess.

How can that be good ? I run also 82 processes but my sro uses 400Mb only all the times. No matter where i am or doing. Im also using Windows 7, 32Bit 4gb ram.

I think most computers (mine anyway) have a sort of auto shutdown programming, I was dickin' around in BIOS one day and found it shuts down when the CPU get's to 90 degrees celsius.

I'm really doubtful that your problem is a ram related issue, perhaps it's something to do with overheating/buildup of dust?

No, if the cpu were being overheated it could just fuse, but if the pc is restarting it is indeed a power supply or ram issue.

do u get BSOD when it restarts?? if you do, then it might me RAM problem.

I have 2gb of ram before, but now 1 remove the other card and I use 1gb. i have no problem now i think that my other memory stick has the problem.

BTW do I really need a CD to run memory test??

No, I dont get a BSOD, just a normal restart. I have cleaned my RAM, RAM slots and CPU fan and will test if it works out or no.

My PSU is 220 Volts, is that too low for SRO? I used to run fine before the Legend V update. So you are saying the problem is from my side, not from the SRO client that is consuming 750 MBs of RAM and keeps on increasing by time?

The problem is, these programs do it just temporarily, I got my client to 150k, but in an hour it went up again to 600MB ~ 700MB....I m getting sick of this issue, for real. There's none of what have been discussed that have helped, oh well, thanks a lot guys. :banghead:

Yea went back up but not as high, maybe theres a way to have it clean the mem every x minutes or something.

its about the Volts, its about watts a good power supply must be 500watts or better. if you have 350watts, you better change it.

Again..there is no fix. Bad coding results in memory leaks (lots of ram usage) and SRO happens to be like that. 600-700MB isn't even that much =\

Aion used to have an issue where you would fatal error @ 2gb ram usage..I've hit 2-3gb with SRO when I used to play.

it could be bad memory, over heating hardware, driver issues, or faulty power supply.

lack of ram will not restart your computer it will only cause the program your running to come up with an error. on my old dell computer with a p4 i had 1gb of ram and turned of virtual memory so i was running JUST off my ram. every time sro used to much ram it would just crash and say something about not enough ram (its been awhile sense then but its close enough).

first off check your memory sticks one at a time and use prime95 to stress the system. get a program called speedfan and have that open when your stressing your system. if anything gets close to 100C that could be your problem. driver issues just go get the latest drivers from the makers site. for faulty power supply it should be also found in the prime95 test.

on my current computer my gpu overheats like hell unless i underclock it. when it does overheat it causes the computer to crash i get a blank screen for a min and my computer restarts.

I cleaned the CPU fan, and the CPU itself from dust, and waiting for the results, however I noticed that most of the time my PC restarts is only during when SRO uses 800 MB of RAM or more, could that be a clue to something?

My PS is working fine, I assure that. :)

It might be windows update that is restarting your computer. Do you have automatic windows update enabled? I know that was the issue with me restarting. SRO normally uses ~1 GB of memory for me.

the times that i have experienced my pc shutting down due to sro was related to graphics. i had intel onboard graphics and only 512mb ram. so. pc sucks up ram for runnin regular processes, including sro. and then a whole lot more for processing the graphics for sro. my fix was. more ram and a decent video card.
the end.

Well i have a 128 MB graphic card , with windows 7, and 4 gb ram. Sro never crashes , runs veryyyyy smoothly even on very crowded areas, plus no lag. And never reaches the 500 MB. Dont know really whats happening with you ppl.
