EDEN was amazingly good, though not comparable to shows like Ergo Proxy or Mushi-shi.
Besides those, as you did ask for 'good' anime, I'll give you a list of Anime that I enjoyed a tad more so then the numerous others I've happened to watch.

Five Centimeters Per Second is a bit Over rated, although it did make me baw even though i didn't like the story. Just reminds me of how lonely i am.

Dunno, I know what your getting at w/ the over hyped thing, but the animation was so good (in my opinion of course, and usually that's all that's needed to set me favorably for a show ^ ^) that I truly enjoyed watching it and can even think back fondly of it...

Oh yeah...basquash has one of the dumbest plots. I was hesitant to give it a try when I heard it was "mecha basketball" but I always give anything mecha a chance. And I really liked the art style, character design isn't the greatest, but everything else is awesome.

Once again, animation quality got me ^ ^
That and the pre-war crisis situation missile thingy. It honestly didn't turn out (yet) as I'd of liked it to, but there's still the movies, so I'll be patient.

Now the only show I'm planning to watch this summer season is Tokyo Magnitude 8.0... and I don't even know about that...

I've watched plenty that take forever to pick up the pace. I actually prefer most of my series that way...but this one was.... my eyes kept shutting on me as I fell asleep. Just didn't like it. There was nothing there for me to hold on to to keep watching.
