If there is a god i would like to think he would make people stop classifying one "god" as the typical christian lord and rather actually go towards learning all religions before trying to disprove the existence of any divine beings. Oh yeah and im an atheist too but i can still respect the faith of others. Its not whether or not their beliefs are physically possible that matters, its whether or not it makes them happy. That's all that matters.

Freedom of choice is a good thing, learn to respect other peoples choices before you can expect anyone to respect yours.

Honestly I prefer the title of agnostic. I believe in science over religion, but I guess I'm open to the fact that there could be some "God" out there. Until it's clearly proven though, science will prevail. To me at least.

Ehh when I hear my friends talk about their beliefs I think to myself how they can possibly believe it all. Everyone thinks differently though, so I'll respect their decisions. Besides.. there's no "proof" they're wrong, right?

I disagree. The internet is now pretty much one of the main ways to communicate and the cheapest way to communicate globally because so many people use it now.

Creationist is the Christian cop-out imo. After all these years you are faced with overwhelming scientific evidence that most of the stuff written in the book supposedly passed down from god himself is wrong. Now you can either blindly continue to worship or if you want to sound sensible you can just make god a cosmic scientist instead of a cosmic douche. All of a sudden things like evolution, shifting tectonic plates, and dinosaurs are all ok. Its just that god made it that way.

Now if christians had believed god was a cosmic scientist then that would actually explain a tremendous amount of things very easily because the most important thing to a scientist isn't morals or values its the science. Christians didn't say that from the get go though. They painted an image of god as this righteous guy who can do no wrong an works all things for good. So when faced with anything they consider evil they just say it was made by this other guy, the devil who god in his infinite wisdom also saw some need to create, probably so he could use him to punish the creation he hadn't created yet whenever they disagreed with him even though choice was the only unique thing about us.

Now i used to be atheist but have since decided that since i have no proof of god doesn't exist i can't say i firmly believe he doesn't because there is a possibility he does. Do i believe in the judo-christian version of god, no. If god were to exist he's probably be a cosmic scientist because if this whole universe was just someones petri dish that would explain alot. I mean, wouldn't you tune into that dish every night just to watch the next crazy thing we come up with. So i've decided to be technically agnostic. This is not to say i don't know what i believe but more to say that frankly i don't give a damn whether is comsic einstein or cosmic douche im going to do whatever.

If it makes them happy to remove the teachings of evolution in all public schools and replace it with intelligent design... If it makes them happy to reintroduce prayers and bible studies in public schools... If it makes them happy to erect a monument of the ten commandments in government institutions... If it makes them happy to ban contraceptions and other medical drugs... If it makes them happy to turn a nation into a theocracy... If it makes them happy to pass down their ideas to innocent children... If it makes them happy...

There are numerous things religious people can do, without the need to physically harm others, to completely destroy a community and be happy themselves. The examples I gave is just the tip of it.
